Welcome to Ancient Forest Flower Essences

We make flower essences in the tradition of Edward Bach, the great British
physician who pioneered the art of flower essence making.

Flower Essences from Ancient Trees

Our love of trees has guided us to make flower essences in the heart of pristine
ancient forests, ranging from towering redwoods to 4,000 year old bristlecone
pines.

The essences carry the unique properties of these ancient trees and environs,
and are made in a manner which does not harm the trees in any way.

Essence Kits

Our essences are available in handy boxed kits of seven bottles. Two of our most
popular kits are Essences of the North American West and Ancient European
Essences.

Online Catalog and Store

All of our essences are available through our online Product Catalog, which has
links to each essence and its properties.

Learning about Flower Essences

We offer this site as a resource for learning about flower essences. We have
included information about how we make our essences, an introduction to the use
of essences, and an Online Catalog and Store.

The Essence Makers

Ancient Forest Essences are made by Sophia Katy Savich in collaboration with
Richard Witteman. Sophia has been making and working with flower essences for
over 35 years.

The Tradition of Dr. Bach

In the 1930's, Dr. Bach roamed the English countryside, making essence tinctures
from wild flowers and other plants. He began using these with his patients in
London, with remarkable results. Over the years, he compiled his now famous 38
Bach Flower Essences, which are used world wide.
