WELCOME TO 15 SQUARE

Welcome! 15 Square is an international charity based in the United Kingdom.

We aim to provide information on foreskin health conditions and how to resolve
them without having to resort to unnecessary and unwanted surgery. We work to
improve public and professional awareness about the function and value of the
male foreskin as well as the complications and harms associated with
circumcision affecting some men.

Finally, we work to help those affected by circumcision by providing support and
advice.

The information on this website is designed to help individuals affected by
foreskin health conditions, as well as individuals affected by circumcision
issues including;

 * Psychological damage
 * Physical problems
 * Issues of sexual function resulting from the above
 * Personal dissatisfaction

On this website you can find foreskin health information and advice for intact
men, as well as information for men with circumcision issues. This information
is also targeted towards parents and carers. We teach about conservative
techniques to help avoid unnecessary circumcision and help assist men who have
been harmed. 15 Square promotes research, accurate health information, and
informed consent.

15 SQUARE PUBLIC STATEMENT: NEYLAND TOWN COUNCIL

Introduction The following statement was written in response to a public blog
post written by former Mayor of Neyland Town …

Over the years we have received messages from thousands of men, and it is clear
that circumcision should be a last medical resort, especially as there are
viable non-surgical solutions to the majority of foreskin conditions.

If you have been negatively affected by circumcision, you can check our
circumcision advice section. Many doctors are still outdated on current best
practice. If you seek more information as a parent or intact man then you can
check our intact section. This is where you will find information on common
issues such as phimosis, a condition that is over-diagnosed and often treatable
with non-invasive measures.

You can contact us if you have any questions regarding this issue including
circumcision, foreskin health or to share your own thoughts. We welcome all
messages and we have PDF information on the following:

– Alternatives to circumcision

– Clinical guidelines for the management of phimosis

– Information fact sheet on Lichen Sclerosus/Balanitis Xerotica Obliterans

We have also participated in research projects including a literature review of
the psychological harms associated with circumcision, and we have provided a
framework for other researchers to conduct their own research into male
psychology.

Male circumcision is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures
worldwide.

OUR WORK

The team here at 15 Square work tirelessly on many projects that move us closer
towards our goals. In addition to being committed to improved support for men,
we also…

 * Advise on medical issues such as phimosis (and other problems affecting the
   foreskin), and techniques for foreskin restoration and help with
   psychological issues arising from circumcision.
 * Work with professional bodies to ensure that they have all the information
   they need to formulate objective clinical guidelines and policies.
 * Promote further research into the effects of circumcision on sexual function
   and sexual response.
 * Ensure that medical practitioners are aware of the damage caused by
   circumcision and what alternative treatments are available.
 * Hold to account medical professionals and institutions that give improper
   information to their patients.
 * Work with groups who question circumcision within religious communities.
 * To ensure that patients, parents and carers are given impartial information
   to encourage fully informed consent concerning circumcision.
 * We support student placements and work closely with Keele University, the
   latest intern placements at 15 Square have been a great success.
 * Currently producing male foreskin focused RSE (Relationship, Sex Education)
   resources for UK schools –  by having scientifically sound education on how
   to care for their genitalia, we are ensuring that young people can advocate
   for their own needs and be safer for it. Contact us to learn more or get
   involved.
 * Supporting men’s health needs. – please consider joining as a member and help
   us change the conversation on circumcisions
