If you have been negatively affected by circumcision, you can check our circumcision advice section. Many doctors are still outdated on current best practice. If you seek more information as a parent or intact man then you can check our intact section. This is where you will find information on common issues such as phimosis, a condition that is over-diagnosed and often treatable with non-invasive measures. You can contact us if you have any questions regarding this issue including circumcision, foreskin health or to share your own thoughts. We welcome all messages and we have PDF information on the following: – Alternatives to circumcision – Clinical guidelines for the management of phimosis – Information fact sheet on Lichen Sclerosus/Balanitis Xerotica Obliterans We have also participated in research projects including a literature review of the psychological harms associated with circumcision, and we have provided a framework for other researchers to conduct their own research into male psychology. Male circumcision is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures worldwide. OUR WORK The team here at 15 Square work tirelessly on many projects that move us closer towards our goals. In addition to being committed to improved support for men, we also… * Advise on medical issues such as phimosis (and other problems affecting the foreskin), and techniques for foreskin restoration and help with psychological issues arising from circumcision. * Work with professional bodies to ensure that they have all the information they need to formulate objective clinical guidelines and policies. * Promote further research into the effects of circumcision on sexual function and sexual response. * Ensure that medical practitioners are aware of the damage caused by circumcision and what alternative treatments are available. * Hold to account medical professionals and institutions that give improper information to their patients. * Work with groups who question circumcision within religious communities. * To ensure that patients, parents and carers are given impartial information to encourage fully informed consent concerning circumcision. * We support student placements and work closely with Keele University, the latest intern placements at 15 Square have been a great success. * Currently producing male foreskin focused RSE (Relationship, Sex Education) resources for UK schools – by having scientifically sound education on how to care for their genitalia, we are ensuring that young people can advocate for their own needs and be safer for it.
