ABOUT SCHOOL

Madhava Vilasom Higher Secondary School(MVHSS, Thundathil) was established in
the year 1950 by the late Varthoor A. Madhavan Pillai as an aided School
recognized by Govt. of Kerala situated at Thundathil, via Kariyavattom,
Thiruvananthapuram. The School is provided with the best infrastructure and
assisted by committed faculty. We offer ideal atmosphere for the holistic
development of about 1250 students of 5th std to Plus Two classes. In Higher
Secondary we have Science, Commerce and Humanities batches facilitated with well
equipped labs and library. The chief mission of the institution is to develop
and empower our students to be confident, respectful to others, responsible and
to be valuable for the society and to treat the nation with empathy.
In the past seventy years of history, our school has framed a large number of
students who has served our nation in various prestigious disciplines. Other
than curriculum we focus and foster their non academic skills; yearly dozens of
players getting selected to state and national level teams, representing youth
festivals, 'Sasthrolvam' etc. We are striving to enrich our students with
personal and interpersonal skills and make them loyal to the nation and ensure
social consciousness through NCC, Scout and Guides, 'Souhrida' & Career Guidance
desk . The school has always tried to bring the parents as co-educators and
helps their monitored their efforts by providing them with periodic progress
cards, reports and also by promoting collective interaction in PTA meetings. In
this Platinum Jubilee year we continue our success story with best academic
results and social responsibility.


FACILITIES

LABORATORY FACILITY

School labs are a great place for students which help them enhance their
learning by understanding the theoretical concepts of science which are taught
in classrooms. To meet the requirements of our students, especially those in the
Higher Secondary levels, We maintain below laboratories with necessary
equipments and gadgets.

 * Geography lab
 * Mathematics Lab etc.

LIBRARY

School libraries are fundamental to developing engaged readers who have the
capability and inclination to read and learn beyond their years at school.
School libraries help students learn to find and use the information they need,
to succeed now and in their future life. The school has a well-stocked library
covering a variety of subjects and other areas of interest.
The spacious school library is stocked with periodicals, newspapers and an
impressive index of titles, covering literature, drama, fiction and non-fiction.
Also we covered texts for their academic needs and casual reading for all age
groups. The library is handled and managed by our teachers.

HI-TECH CLASS ROOMS


Technology has transformed life as we know it, and the classroom looks much
different than it did in years ago. Our school class rooms are equipped with
laptops, projects, speakers, projector screens like Hi-tech devices to make
classes more interactive and effective. The classroom is digitized and helps
students to ensure full participation. By mean of internet there are countless
resources for enhancing education and making learning more fun and effective.
With technology in the classroom, our students have instant access to fresh
information that can supplement their learning experience.

AUDITORIUM

The auditorium is a central and important space in our school lucky enough to
have a dedicated one. It is used for all types of formal school programs, award
ceremonies, youth festivals, competitions and so on. It located in a separate
wing so that while it is being used, classes do not get disturbed due to noise
and crowds. It has been made sound-proof. There is enough parking facility near
the school hall.

TRANSPORTATION

Considering the safety of our students, the school is facilitated with
transportation for girls on contract basis with private transportation system.
Teachers from school are look after the transportation arrangements and
coordination for students.

PLAYGROUND

Play is critical for students to develop the emotional, social and creative
thinking skills they’ll need when they’re adults. Play allows them to engage
with their surrounding environment and with others in their community in a fun
context. It enables them to explore ideas and different ways to behave, testing
their boundaries and growing in the process.
We are giving much importance for our students healthy constitution and we are
in hands on support with LNCPE(Lakshmibai National College of Physical
Education) & SAI, our students has achieved national and international medals in
various Sports and Games items. The school is having dedicated physical
education teacher and ground for their physical practice at all the times. We
have framed national and international sports personalities and the achievements
going on.

SECURITY

The school offered dedicated security service on schooling hours.
The school is provided with the best infrastructure, eco-friendly environment
for our students overall development.
