We are knowledgeable in performing damage inspections and in working with

Commercial: 

Thompson Exteriors will help protect your investment with commercial roofing
services that include single membrane, TPO, EPDM, and we are the Minnesota’s
only certified installer of GACS.

SIDING

We offer several siding choices to update the look of your home. Options include
vinyl, steel, and LP Smartside. Each of our three siding types are created with
quality, performance, and value to make them among the best in the market.

WINDOWS/DOORS

In the challenging climate we live in quality windows are especially important.

Since 1990, Thompson Exteriors has repaired and improved the exteriors of homes
across the Twin Cities Metro area. From our office and showroom in South
Minneapolis we provide expert replacement of windows, siding, and roofing. Our
quality standards are “rhino tough.”

Peter Thompson takes pride in helping customers with their projects from start
to finish. Choosing Thompson Exteriors provides you with a seamless experience.
Peter himself will come to your home to learn your needs and provide you with
solution options. Peter is happy to take the time to educating homeowners on the
products and work that they are considering for their home. Once your project is
underway he will personally oversee the work and go over the final result with

Peter and his crew did a great job reroofing our house in 2020. They do quality
work - it still looks brand new! A portion of our home had a flat roof that we
wanted to add a gable to. Peter was able to understand what we were looking for
and make recommendations on the design. We ended up with a gable that was
constructed to blend with the existing architecture and finishes seamlessly. We
plan to use them for additional exterior work in the future.

Overall, a really good roofing job from Thompson Exteriors. The new shingles
look nice and professional, and the extra work to reinforce my old house’s
sagging eve issue was worth it. Once the work got started, they were consistent
and professional every day that they showed up. Job didn’t take relatively long
and workers were there consistently every day until to the work was finished.
One constructive piece of feedback: They need project managers. At times it was
hard to nail down the exact start date, and felt like it was pushed several
times. This may have been due to too many jobs on the plate of my
point-of-contact, or just simply the lack of a project manager.

Thompson was easy to work with. I had two different hail events that had to be
adjusted. But after the insurance company completed their duties the work to fix
was completed smoothly.

His crew came removed the old roof put down ice and water barrier and reshingled
our house all in one day. He suggested larger gutters with longer downspouts,
now our basement is dry.

The owner was responsive when I first reached out. He showed up at the wrong
time (about an hour early) for our original meeting but thankfully my father in
law was there to discuss the project. The owner declined my job stating “he was
too busy” and it would be too complicated. I had explained before our meeting
that I would need a custom fit door and he said no problem as he has done new
doors in my neighborhood before. However, he seemed caught off guard by the fact
that the door needing to be replaced was not a standard size as the home was
built in 1912. I appreciate his honesty and time; however, using the words “too
busy” just seemed unprofessional in my opinion.

Peter and his roofing team just did a great job on our house. They were friendly
and worked hard to complete the project before it rained. They did a good job
cleaning up and left very little for me to find. His estimate was spot on and
was upfront about all costs to the project. He also took the time to come to our
house to explain the quote, which no other company attempted or followed up. The
final bill was under all of his competitors and the quality of work was
excellent. I would highly recommend using his company or getting a quote from
him with all the other companies you are going to ask.

We worked with Thompson Exteriors to do a major home exterior project consisting
of new siding, trim, roof, flat roof finishing, painting of a detached garage
and teardown of an old chimney and replacing with a new chimney in 2019. We are
very happy with the end result and with the communication that took place along
the way. A brutal hail storm led to us requiring another new roof in 2024.
Thompson Exteriors did a great job of working with is to have our replacement
roof done quickly and well. Our 100+ year old home looks great and recommend
Thompson Exteriors.
