COMMONWEALTH COURTS

 * The Family Court of Australia deals with family and relationship matters.
Additional information about Family Court matters can be found on the Family
   Law Network Australia web site.
 * The Federal Circuit Court is a court with federal jurisdiction. It operates
as a separate court and broadly exercises concurrent jurisdiction with the
superior courts, the Federal Court of Australia and the Family Court of
Australia. By way of comparison with the State hierarchy of courts, the
Federal Circuit Court is similar in status to that of the State District
   Courts.
 * The Federal Court's jurisdiction covers almost all civil matters arising
under Australian Federal law and some summary criminal matters.
 * The High Court hears appeals from both Federal and State Courts.
