In the ever-evolving landscape of audio technology, Sony’s LinkBuds Fit True
Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds stand out as a testament to innovation and

LOOK & FEEL

LinkBuds are notoriously tiny earbuds and the LinkBuds Fit are the most
ergonomic so far. They’re shaped like small pods with a silicone wing fin
overlaying almost the entire housing. There are black and white versions that
are equally as stylish, even with its very simplistic design. The LinkBuds sink
a bit deep in your ears, but they’re light and small enough to seem invisible
when you get used to them. While the earbuds themselves are simple, the charging
case is actually quite luxurious with its glossy marble finish.

DESIGN & FUNCTIONALITY

The LinkBuds Fit uses an 8mm dynamic X driver that has a considerable output.
You’ll be able to hear a comfortably loud signal with plenty of headroom to play
around with. Noise-canceling helps with the loudness and isolation too, and
because we are talking about a Sony product you can expect some of the strongest
ANC around.

Sony recently updated their headphones companion app that you can use to access
many different features. If you’ve used any of their other headphones or
earbuds, then you should be familiar with many of the features offered here. 360
Reality Audio, DSEE, and EQ are accessible with the LinkBuds Fit, which gives
you a lot of personalization options. The EQ even has a feature where you can
more simply select between unlabeled filters meant to complement the specific
tracks you’re listening to. The app also lets you use the touch sensors to
interact with music apps directly. Tripple tapping will play music from Spotify
whether you had something playing previously or not. Every tapping action
registers very quickly, and sensors are just sensitive enough to only activate
when intended.



BLUETOOTH

When pairing the LinkBuds fit, I found the connection to be almost instant. No
matter what device I was using, they could find the LinkBuds instantly. The
connection is super stable with no dropout experiences throughout many hours of
listening. If you use an Android device, you’ll have access to the LDAC COCEC,
which is the highest sound quality offered by the LinkBuds with 96 kHz sampling
at 990 kbps. These are also multipoint earbuds that allow you to connect the
LinkBuds with multiple devices at once. Auracast and LE Audio are also
compatible.

BATTERY LIFE

The LinkBuds 5.5 hours of playback doesn’t sound too appealing but it’s
acceptable for the price. With the charging case, the LinkBuds have 21 hours of
charge with quick charging.



SOUNDSTAGE

When dealing with Sony, you can expect a good soundstage that is enhanced with
spatial audio features. Sony’s 360 Reality Audio feature helps establish a more
immersive presentation, with more dimension and open sound elements. However,
this is only available on some platforms, so if you’re listing primarily through
Spotify, then the soundstage can only be judged in stereo. Switching between the
modes, these earbuds have a more natural soundstage through spatial audio with
more exact imaging and layering. Without it, stereo separation is more congealed
but still fairly wide. You get a far more linear soundstage that doesn’t define
sound elements as clearly in the mix.

LOW END

Sony earbuds like to keep the bass big and thumpy, and that’s what the LinkBuds
bring. The Clear Bass feature in the app only acts to increase the body of the
bass even more, and depending on EQ, the LinkBuds can have a thunderous
response. While there isn’t much detail to assess in specific bass instruments
the tone you’re getting gives a consistent explosiveness to your tracks. It’s a
very artificial response, but one you’ll have fun with depending on your
preferred genres.

MIDS

Even with EQ, the mids never pop out in any significant way. What’s shown in the
mids is compromised by a cloudy low-mid resonance that results in unclear
instruments. You get a thin surface of midrange frequencies that never
represents anything physical in the mix. Vocals still have some authority
though, with forward gain that rises out of the fog a bit.

HIGHS

While there’s some treble detail that comes through, the LinkBuds have a
reserved tonality that will appeal to listeners sensitive to the region. The
clarity isn’t as disorganized as the mid though, so you’ll get some sense of
sizzle. It’s a thin response, but the display of frequencies is much tighter and
even.

mark in the crowded audio market, offering a compelling combination of style,
comfort, and sound quality. With features like adaptive noise canceling, a
user-friendly companion app, and a remarkable soundstage, they cater to both
music aficionados and casual listeners alike. Although the battery life and
mid-range performance could benefit from marginal improvements, the overall
package is hard to overlook, especially for those seeking an earbud that won’t
