THINGS TO KNOW




WHO CAN APPLY?

To apply for Premier you must be 18 or older, opening an account for yourself,
and not already banking with us in the UAE.

You must also meet one of the following criteria:

 * deposit an on-going individual monthly net income of at least AED 40,000 into
   your account
 * maintain a Total Relationship Balance (TRB) with us of AED 350,000 in
   deposits and/or investments7Footnote link 7
 * hold a mortgage with us with a drawdown of AED 3,000,000 or above for the
   first 24 months, after which one of our other eligibility criteria will have
   to be met
 * already hold, and qualify for, a Premier account in another country or region
 * have a spouse or parent who already holds, and qualifies for, an Premier
   account



WHAT IS A TOTAL RELATIONSHIP BALANCE (TRB)? 

Your TRB consists of any other investments or products you hold with us, such
as:

 * your savings
 * any investments or insurance

WHAT YOU'LL NEED 

UAE RESIDENTS

 * Physical Emirates ID
 * Physical passport
 * Proof of income, such as a salary certificate, bank statement dated within
   the last 3 months, for business owners - company's last 3 months' bank
   statements
 * Proof of UAE residence address, such as a utility bill, tenancy contract,
   Ejari number, title deed or letter from employer

NEW TO THE UAE

 * Physical passport
 * Proof of income, such as a salary certificate, bank statement dated within
   the last 3 months, for business owners - company's last 3 months' bank
   statements

Joint account


Both you and your joint applicants need to complete the current account opening
process by personally visiting any of our branch or customer service centres,
with the following documents:

 * Original passport (for all customers).
 * Valid residence visa (for non-GCC national customers only).
 * Original Emirates identification card (for all customers).
 * Proof of UAE residence in the form of either a utility bill/rental
   agreement/employment letter.
 * Original labour card/work ID (for female applicants on father's/husband's
   sponsorship).
 * Original trade licence (for all self-employed customers).
 * Original income transfer letter from the employer (for income transfer
   customers).

Please note, that we may request further information or documentation from you,
in order to comply with the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA)Foreign

CONSIDERATIONS AROUND SALARY TRANSFER 

If you are a salaried customer and your salary is transferred to HSBC UAE, you
will not be required to maintain a minimum balance or a relationship balance
with us for any account that you open with us. If you stop transferring your
salary to HSBC UAE, then a fee may be applied as per the Schedule of Services

If you are a non-salary transfer customer, a lower cost option for you to
consider is to have a personal banking proposition, and open a Flexi or E-Saver
account, as you will not be required to maintain a minimum balance in those
accounts. If you choose a different proposition or open a different account
type, then a fee may be applied for not maintaining a minimum balance as per the

SERVICES AND FEES 

This HSBC account comes with a debit card and monthly statements. Please refer
to our Schedule of Services and Tariffs for a complete list of services along
with any fees and charges associated with them.

DON’T HAVE AN EMIRATES ID YET? 

If you’ve applied for a residency visa and don’t have your Emirates ID yet,
you’ll have 75 days from opening your account to give it to us. After that, you
won’t be able to make digital payments or use your cards until we receive your
Emirates ID.

 1. If you do not meet the Premier eligibility requirements then we reserve the
    right, at our discretion, to charge you a service fee up to the point we
    convert your account into a Personal Banking account. Terms and conditions

    check.
 3. We cannot guarantee that the exchange rates offered by HSBC UAE will be
    better than those offered by other financial institutions at the time of
    transfer.

    Customers can receive a transfer in 12 currencies:

    Participating countries and regions are:
    
    Australia, Bahrain, Bermuda, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Greece, Hong Kong
    SAR, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Jersey, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, New
    Zealand, Oman, Qatar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, UAE, UK, US and Vietnam.

 5. There are no fees for payments within HSBC. HSBC won't charge you a fee for
    international payments outside HSBC made on the HSBC UAE mobile banking app,
    as part of a promotional campaign until further notice. HSBC reserves the
    right to amend or modify fees at any time at its sole discretion. Before the
    promotional period is over, you will receive a notification 60 days in
    advance, regarding the fees applicable for these payment transactions. Any
    changes will also be reflected in our Schedule of Services and Tariffs. For
    international payments outside HBSC, correspondent and receiving banks may
    charge additional fees when they process the transactions.
 6. You must apply for and open a new HSBC Premier or Advance Account during the
    Offer Period and fund the new account or transfer your salary in accordance
    with the Eligibility Criteria before 31 March 2024, as well as continuing to
    meet the criteria for at least 6 consecutive months. This Offer is not
    available to Personal Banking and Flexi Account customers.
 7. AED 350,000 has to be maintained in deposits and/or investments within 24
    months, or if the mortgage is fully paid off before 24 months, to avoid
    charges and discontinued service. You must successfully meet the Premier by
    mortgage eligibility criteria in order to take advantage of discounted fees
    and charges available to Premier customers. If you default on your home loan
    agreement, this may result in charges or discontinued service.
