The ECHOES project will promote the development of the Digital Commons through a digital environment that enables the collective enrichment and analysis of cultural heritage objects, facts or phenomena. One of the partners of the initiative is the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center. * ENEA OPERATOR IMPLEMENTS ADVANCED PROPRIETARY TOOL TO SUPPORT INVESTMENT PLANNING PROCESS 2024-08-08 Experts from Enea Operator and the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center have developed an algorithm to support the planning of network investment decisions. The result is a fully proprietary tool, the only one of its kind in the Polish energy industry, that supports investment processes based on data from remote reading meters, GIS network information and data from the SCADA system * DATASPACE WEBSITE FOR EUROPE’S CULTURAL HERITAGE LAUNCHED 2024-07-22 DataSpace, a website for Europe's cultural heritage, has been launched with the aim of stimulating interest in Europe's cultural heritage and promoting digital culture as a public good. The site provides access to high quality data, with an emphasis on 3D, and encourages users to re-use and find new value in it. * ADVANCINGEUROPEAN QUANTUM COMPUTING: SIGNATURE OF THE PROCUREMENT CONTRACT FOR EUROQCS-POLAND 2024-07-10 The procurement contract of EuroQCS-Poland, the EuroHPC quantum computer to be located in Poland, has been signed by the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) and the company AQT, the selected vendor. * DARIAH-PL WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE NATIONAL RECONSTRUCTION PLAN 2024-07-09 Under the signed agreement, the project entitled "Digital Research Infrastructure for the Humanities and Arts DARIAH-PL" has been supported by the development plan under Investment: A2.4.1 Investments in Research Capacity Development of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The project is being implemented as part of a multi-year plan to deepen cooperation in building digital infrastructure for the humanities and arts in Poland. One of the events during the exhibition was the presentation of the AgriFoodTEF project, which was created by the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center, among others. * AUTUMN IN POZNAŃ WITH GÉANT AND SIG-MSP 2024-10-14 On 24 October 2024 Poznań, also known as the Capital of Wielkopolska region, will host the autumn meeting of SIG-MSP (Special Interest Group – Management of Service Portfolios) which operates under the auspices of the major European computer network GÉANT. Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center will be the co-host of this event, which is going to bring together members of National Research and Education Networks from all over Europe. * PSNC IS THE PATRON OF THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS 2024-10-02 “Contemporary trends and perspectives in computer science and management" is the motto of the 1st National Conference for Young Scientists, which will take place on 17 and 18 October, 2024. The event is organised by the Poznan University of Technology under the auspices of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center. * RESEARCHERS’ NIGHT 2024 IN PICTURES 2024-09-30 During this year's edition of Researcher's Night PSNC gave their guests access to the state-of-the-art technology in the shape of HPC's and a quantum machine. Aspiring researchers could also learn how to professionally record a podcast, act as a journalist in front of a TV camera or even try to handle the camera itself. There were robots, drones and fun galore – everything just to let all the visitors get as close as possible to the beauty of engineering in as many aspects as possible. One of the highlights of the evening was a cutting edge board game that lets you understand what actually is this quantum technology everybody's talking so much about. * OPENLIVINGLAB DAYS 2024: A MEETING OF LIVING LABS EXPERTS 2024-09-30 For three days, from 25 to 27 September 2024, the Romanian city of Timișoara hosted the LivingLabs community meeting as part of the OpenLivingLab Days 2024 (OLLD24). Ewelina Moszyk from PSNC Future Labs was one of the speakers at the event, taking part in the panel discussion ‘Business value of Living labs acting for Zero Emissions and Pollution'. * PSNC AND ADAM MICKIEWICZ UNIVERSITY IN POZNAŃ CREATED THE CONSORTIUM OF QUANTUM TECHNOLOGIES 2024-09-13 On 12 September 2024 Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań signed an agreement launching the creation of the Consortium of Quantum Technologies. The consortium's main objectives include: quantum computing, machine learning and simulations. Both institutions are going to work together on improving competences and promoting quantum technologies, as well as benefits we gain from them. * QUANTUM COMPUTING AT THE XXXIII ECONOMIC FORUM IN THE POLISH MOUNTAINS 2024-09-09 XXXIII Economic Forum took place in a picturesque city of Karpacz in the Polish mountains between 3 and 5 September 2024. "Time of New Leaders – Shaping the Future Together" was the theme chosen for this year's edition of the event. On the final day of the meeting a question concerning quantum computing was posed and PSNC was there to deliver the answer.
