     BEST HOTEL ON VIRGINIA BEACH
     
     Our family has vacationed on Virginia Beach several times staying at other
     high end hotels, but the Marriott Oceanfront is the best! We will only come
     back to this hotel when at Virginia Beach.

     THINGS HAVE CHANGED
     
     We stayed last year "August 2023" for our Honeymoon and we had an amazing
     stay. But this year was rather disappointing. The bike rental place was
     closed everyday we were there except one. Service at the bar was
     exceptionally slow. We had to ask for everything we needed, silverware,
     napkins,salt and pepper, cream and sugar for our coffees. We were stuck
     inside one day due to a storm that passed thru so we figured we would order
     room service. We quickly decided against that because the food choices were
     awful. Whatever happened to a good ole order of chicken tenders and french
     fries? Just to get a regular cheeseburger we would of had to order from the
     kids meal. I understand you are an upscale resort but some real food on
     your menu for room service would be nice. Even the side dishes were kinda
     eeek. I mean honestly who doesn't have regular mashed potatoes on their
     menu?! I also think maybe you should come up with a new pool schedule. Stay
     open late and make it adults only from like 9pm to midnight maybe. I
     couldn't enjoy the indoor pool the entire time i was there because it was
     loaded with kids jumping and splashing all the adults. Several of us guests
     ended up leaving because it just wasn't an enjoyable time. If i go night
     swimming i want it to be peacful not filled with screaming unsupervised
     kids. Breakfast this year was not included in our room rate, although last
     year it was. I don't know why you changed that. The breakfast is the best
     part of Tulu. The hotel had to tie up our balcony furniture due to the wind
     one day. Without any notice and without us being present, they came into
     our room and zip tied all the furniture together in a corner of the
     balcony. Then they never came back to put it back up for us. We ended up
     buying a set of scissors to cut the zip ties ourselves and putting the
     furniture back in place. Last time I checked I was not a maintenance
     employee of Marriott and I was rather annoyed that I had to set up my
     balcony myself. I'm not sure if the fact we would have went without
     furniture to sit on the rest of our stay annoys me more or the fact that
     random people just came up into our room where all our personal belongings
     were laying without any notice or approval. The resort is absolutely
     beautiful, but after this years stay i don't think we will be returning.
     For the price we paid for the week it just was overall very disappointing.
     Next year I think I'll spend my $5000 somewhere else.

     I think there were a few missing spots that hasn't been a typical theme of
     my Marriott stays. I typically have a great time with Marriott which why I
     am a silver member.
     
     I think that it could have been a better stay. No wash clothes, service
     outing, sand in made up bed, not able to do late check out.

     BEAUTIFUL VIEWS
     
     We stayed on the 22nd floor, it was a very clean and comfortable room. We
     had a view of the beach and the oceanfront. Orions was a floor above us and
     the food was delicious. Gift shop was full of treasures and necessities
     that may have been forgotten. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. Games
     to play outside were fun. We had a wonderful stay.

         been, especially after patiently waiting. The fact that it took until
         after 8 PM to move you to a different room is unacceptable, and I

     GREAT PROPERTY WITH TERRIBLE SERVICE
     
     This is a very nice property with terrible service. At check-in, they
     failed to give our family 2 rooms next to each other; worse, our rooms were
     not even on the same floor. The receptionist promised us that the hotel
     would contact us the next day to remedy the situation; they never did. We
     requested a later check-out as it was our 6 year old’s birthday: denied. We
     paid over $3,000 for 2 nights, yet beach chairs were not included and we
     were charged several hundred dollars extra. The restaurants were half
     empty, yet we couldn’t get a table due to understaffing. Breakfast
     selection was one of the poorest I’ve ever seen in a Marriott. The food was
     small portions and overpriced. The sad thing is: this is a fantastic
     property. New hotel, great beach and location. It just needs proper

     I had booked a room with a king bed and an ocean view but ended up in a
     room with 2 double beds overlooking the dirty roof with no view and loud
     air conditioning noises. I was told the room would be changed in the
     morning but it wasn’t. I was told the only other option was to check out.

         your stay. I fully understand how frustrating and disappointing it must
         have been to book a room with a king bed and ocean view, only to end up
         in a room with two double beds, no view, and the disruptive noise from
         the air conditioning units.

         fulfilled. The fact that your only other option was to check out is

     ROOFTOP ASHTRAY VIEW
     
     Despite being friendly at check-in, the hotel staff did not listen to my
     responses to their questions. We told them we had a car and needed to park,
     but had to return and stand in line again when we found they failed to
     provide us with the parking pass. On check in, I had informed the front
     desk personnel we had never been there before. Despite the fact I had
     observed them spending a lot of time with other check-ins, the staff were
     short with my husband and I and chose only to give me our hotel keys
     without outlining where we would find the room, the pool, and the amenities
     covered by our stay.
     
     The description of the room was deceptive. We booked an 'ocean view' room
     which was deceptive - we were able to view a small sliver of the ocean at
     the far end of a vast rooftop littered with cigarette butts which were
     being tossed from upper floor balconies all week. The 'balcony' was a
     narrow space which held two chairs and a table which had less than an inch
     of space on either side of them. Not that the balcony was pleasant to sit
     on with the ashtray accumulation just on the other side of the rail and the
     sound of the ocean was drowned out by loud air conditioning units which
     (despite being on 24/7) could not seem to cool the room enough. We were not
     offered different accommodations when we complained.
     
     Getting to the room was painful. The elevator wait was long and guaranteed
     to have at least a few families of four or five dripping with chlorine
     fresh from the pool. The pool was packed with bodies, leaving no room for
     laps or exercise.
     
     The ocean was lovely and the two chairs provided as part of the resort fee
     was appreciated, but we would have better appreciated the umbrella without
     having to pay yet another 'resort' upcharge. Sitting on the beach without
     shade is not an option for myself or my husband. Sunscreen was not a part
     of the hotel amenities.
     
     Breakfast was not included with our room, however my fellow employees who
     booked the neighboring Embassy Suites within the same resort had theirs
     included. Instead, I had to rely on the pile of carbs provided by the
     conference I was attending. (How difficult would it to offer some
     made-to-order eggs or cold cuts?) The first day of the conference, my
     employees went out of their way to sneak eggs to me so I would not get sick
     from lack of nutrition in the morning. Coffee in the Starbucks downstairs
     was priced over double what Starbucks charges in the rest of Virginia.
