Judo's goals can be best expressed in Professor Kano's words: "The aim of judo is to utilize physical and mental strength most effectively. Its training is to understand the true meaning of life through the mental and physical training of attack and defense. You must develop yourself as a person and become a useful citizen to society." The phrase sei ryoku zen yo expresses the essence of judo's approach. 'Seiryoku' refers to mental and physical forces and 'zenyo' means to put to good use. Together sei ryoku zen yo means to use one's own mental and physical forces to accomplish worthwhile goals most efficiently. By learning and mastering the judo's essence from experience, we can always maintain composure, make decisions clearly, and foster self-esteem throughout our living in this complex society. Our club has a history of developing national champions. HOME: News & Updates PRACTICE SCHEDULE NOTE: In person practices have started back up. You can apply now to start the membership process. Our practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm to 8:30pm. Please visit any time. For new students, we recommend joining on the first Thursday of each month. We have both competitors and non-competitors among our students ranging from 7 years old to seniors. PAJC is affiliated with the Central Coast Black Belt Judo Association, the United States Judo Federation and USA Judo.
