Skip to content TCRRA Home Log in PROVIDING SAFE ACCESS TO OUR SPECIAL PLACES TCRRA maintains the private roadway in Fremont County, CO For the Texas Creek Ranch property owners community About us ABOUT THE TEXAS CREEK RANCH ROAD ASSOCIATION The goal of the Road Association is to maintain the private road that connects the properties and allows access to lots in Texas Creek Ranch. This also includes maintenance of the easement road, the bridge over Texas Creek, and the gate. DRAINAGE AND WATER DAMAGE Heavy rains causes damage to the roads when run-off carves ruts across the road and removes roadbase. PLOWING We plow when we receive at least 8 inches of snow, or upon special request. Keep in mind plowing risks removing roadbase or reshaping the road. MUD AND RUTS Spring brings muddy weather to the road, and portions of the road without packed roadbase may be slippery. We have seen significant ruts created on muddy sections of the road. CROWNING Crowning is a method for helping promote drainage from the road to water ways (like ditches). You may see a slope to the road way, this is by design. HILLS AND ROCKY TERRAIN Hills and rocky terrain make road maintenance particularly challenging. When ascending a hill in a vehicle, maintain a steady, consistent speed. Avoid tire slippage as this causes road unevenness. If you have a 4WD vehicle, consider placing your vehicle in 4WD high prior to ascending a hill, particularly when hauling a load. SURFACING We use roadbase sourced from Seifert in Westcliffe. You may notice the roadbase is a lighter color than most of the surrounding soil. Roadbase provides significant traction during snow, and helps the road maintain it’s shape. If you are sourcing roadbase for your driveway and wish to match the color/roadbase contact the TCRRA board.
