BASED ON THE WORK OF DR. NANCY HENLEY, PH.D.

The Feminist Perspectives Test is one of the most widely-used tests for
determining what kind of feminist (or non-feminist) a person is. This version of
the Feminist Perspectives Test incorporates recent advances in feminist theory
by including newer types of feminism that Dr. Henley had not included in her
original research.

The IDRlabs Feminist Perspectives Test (IDR-FPT) was developed by IDRlabs. The
IDR-FPT is based on the work of Dr. Nancy Henley and her colleagues, who created
the Feminist Perspectives Scale (FPS). The IDR-FPT is not associated with any
specific researchers in the field of psychology, philosophy, politics, or any
affiliated research institutions.

The IDRlabs Feminist Perspectives Test was informed by the FPS, as published in
Henley, N.; Meng, K.; O'Brien, D.; McCarthy, W.; Sockloskie, R. (1998).
"Developing a Scale to Measure the Diversity of Feminist Attitudes". Psychology
of Women Quarterly, 22(2), 317-348. Henley, N., Spalding, L., Kosta, A. (2006).
Development of the short form of the feminist perspectives scale. Psychology of
Women Quarterly, 24(3), 254-256.

The work of Dr. Henley, et al. has also informed some of the diagnostic criteria
in the form of the widely used psychological instrument, the FPS, for clinical
use especially by qualified mental health professionals. The present test is
intended for educational purposes only. IDRlabs and the present IDRlabs Feminist
Perspectives Test are independent from the above researchers, therapists,
authors, organizations, or their affiliated institutions.



The Feminist Perspectives Test is based on a famous and well-regarded inventory
for the assessment of feminism attitudes. However, free online tests and quizzes
such as this one are solely first takes and cannot provide accurate assessments
of your feminist attitude. Hence, the test is intended to be used for
educational purposes only. A definitive feminist perspectives assessment
requires immersing yourself in the field in depth.

This test has kept up with advances in feminist scholarship by measuring the
scales of Conservatism/Non-Feminism, Liberal Feminism, Radical Feminism,
Socialist Feminism, Cultural Feminism, Women of Color Feminism, Lesbian
Feminism, Ecofeminism, Intersectional Feminism, and Postmodern Feminism. Even
so, the test does not purport to be exhaustive.

As the publishers of this free online Feminist Perspectives test, which allows
you to gauge your prevalence of liberal, radical, socialist, cultural,
woman-of-color, or conservative perspectives, we have strived to make the test
as reliable and valid as possible, by subjecting this test to statistical
controls and validation. However, free online quizzes such as the present
Feminist Perspectives Test do not provide professional assessments or
recommendations of any kind; the test is provided entirely “as-is.” For more
