Only half of Britain's train network will run on strike days next week - with a
very limited service on those lines from around 7.30am until 6.30pm, rail bosses
said today as unions were accused of putting Britain back into lockdown. Members
of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union at Network Rail and 13 train
operators are set to walk out next Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, which will
also severely disrupt services on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. As millions of
Britons now face the prospect of having no choice but to work from home for all
of next week, the RMT and Unite will also be striking on London Underground next
Tuesday in a separate row over jobs and pay. And Conservative MP Andrew Bridgen
told MailOnline today: 'I would say it is a de facto lockdown, with all the
damage that we know that inflicts not just on the economy, but also to health.
The fact is that it is going to cause extreme damage to the economy and the
country.' Network Rail said no passenger services will serve locations such as
Penzance in Cornwall, Bournemouth in Dorset, Swansea in South Wales, Holyhead in
North Wales, Chester in Cheshire and Blackpool in Lancashire. There will also be
no passenger trains running north from Glasgow or Edinburgh, and the number of
passenger services on the three strike days is expected to be limited to around
4,500 compared with 20,000 normally.

Wayne Humphreys, 77, was captured overtaking a cyclist via GoPro camera on a
country road while driving his white Audi Q8 in Wales last year. The cyclist
reported the incident to roads policing team GoSafe, which is a road casualty
reduction partnership that encourages motorists to drive legally and safely. It
enables the public to upload video evidence and complete a statement about an
offence they have witnessed, which is subsequently sent police where they review
the footage and decide if any offences detected can be prosecuted. Warehouse
boss Mr Humphreys was contacted over the manoeuvre but refused to accept any
wrongdoing and did not attend a course or pay a fixed penalty notice. He was
prosecuted at Cardiff Magistrates Court for driving without due care and
attention, given four penalty points, and ordered to pay £1,887 in a fine
alongside the court and solicitor costs.

Haringey social worker Theresa Ferguson said she and Barnet Hospital raised
concerns about handing little Lily-Mai Saint George back to her ex-homeless
parents before she died. Lauren Saint George (left) and Darren Hurrell, both 25,

just ten weeks old when she died from a serious head injury and had also

baby had been discharged into her parents' care just six days earlier despite
the opposition of hospital staff over concerns about the mother's anger problems

Trading standards officers from Westminster Council have raided some of the
deluge of tacky, overpriced US-themed sweet and souvenir shops that have been

JUST LION AROUND! PRIDE OF SLEEPY BIG CATS ESCAPE UP A TREE TO ESCAPE THE MIDDAY
HEAT IN TANZANIA
In a rare sight, lions have been seen 20 feet up in the Southern Serengeti
enjoying the spectacular views and lounging about. One picture (bottom right)
which looks upon first glance to be a gorgeous shot of the African landscape
with an acacia tree in the centre is actually the pride sleeping. These pictures
captured by a wildlife photographer also show the lions jumping up onto branches
(main) and lying in the shade (top right). East Africa's Uganda and Tanzania are
the few places in the world where you can happen up on 'tree climbing lions' as
these big cats are known to avoid heights unlike Tigers. Researchers believe
it's to escape the heat of the sun and bugs, and spot their next prey. It can be
tricky for lions to get up to the trees as they weigh 250 to 400 pounds, posing
quite a challenge.

More than 20,000 images captured by photographers from 115 countries have been
submitted to the awards, with the overall winner primed to take home a £5,000
cash prize. The contest's overall winner will be announced on September 8, with
the winning images travelling around the world in a touring exhibition. Will
Nicholls, wildlife cameraman and Director at Bird Photographer of the Year,
says: 'We've seen stunning images this year. We celebrate birds and conservation
through images, and it is always a pleasure for everyone on the judging panel to
see the work of such talented photographers.'

London's Camden Market has 452,000 check-in tags on Instagram with 14 per cent
of those surveyed voting for the location. Of the 1,000 social media users
surveyed, nearly a quarter said that London's Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace

the struggles of flying while 6XL. The travel blogger has seen her weight
fluctuate since she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome in 2019. During
her diagnosis she gained 100 pounds. While many social media users have
supported her, others have criticized her saying that she was 'going to cause a
plane crash.' Jae'lynn hopes to inspire others to love their bodies through her
social media.
