Director Of Personal Growth & Development

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brandon guides to make common sense, common practice. He supports people in
gaining the confidence necessary to lead instead of just manage. He aids in
cutting distractions out of life, so people become productive, instead of just
busy. Most importantly, he leads people in learning what is most important and
then assists in developing the discipline it takes to live a life of purpose.

Brandon’s passion for leadership development started with an opportunity to play
collegiate baseball at Purdue University. After graduation, he began a career as
a high school teacher and coach in Arizona and received his Master’s in
Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. As the head coach of
the baseball team, Brandon focused on character development first and baseball
second. His top priority was to develop young boys into good men, husbands, and
fathers. This focus equated to dozens of draft picks, collegiate athletes, state
championships and a nationally ranked program. Brandon developed district-wide
leadership programs for students, teachers, and administration and was named a
finalist for Teacher of the Year for the state of Arizona in 2010.

Brandon became a professional leadership coach, facilitator and speaker in
January of 2016. Since then he has been helping incredible people enhance their

RODNEY LOPEZ

Director Of Community Outreach

×

RODNEY LOPEZ

Director Of Community Outreach

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rodney Lopez took over the Chiefs' program in the fall of 2019 after serving as
an assistant coach the prior two seasons for former head coach Brad Unger. Lopez
is just the fourth Waubonsee head coach in the program's history, following in
the footsteps of the late Bill Prince, Dave Randall and Unger. As the Chiefs'
assistant in 2018 and 2019, Lopez worked with the infielders and served as first
base coach, helping guide Waubonsee to 58 wins and a runner-up finish in last
year’s Region IV Division III Tournament.

He brings years of experience at the youth and prep level to Waubonsee’s dugout.
Lopez began his coaching career as a volunteer with the Hegewisch Little League
on the south side of Chicago. He held roles as a Coach, Manager, Vice-President
and President helping the league win several tournament championships as well as
a trip to the state tournament. Coach Lopez went on to start the Hegewisch Heat
travel baseball program, which featured multiple teams with over fifty players
in the program. More than a dozen Heat players went on to play in college.

Lopez also coached at the high school level, serving as an assistant coach and
junior varsity head coach at St. Francis de Sales of the Chicago Catholic
League. Off the field he took on an even larger role as the school’s Alumni
Director and ultimately Advancement Director. Lopez helped with the Pioneers’
fundraising, student procurement, and assisting students in the college
placement process. Coach Lopez later took over as the junior varsity head coach
at Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep. He helped the Eagles’ soar in the competitive
Jackie Robinson South Conference of the Chicago Public League, as they developed
into a contender for the conference title and Regional Championship.

Lopez’ full-time job for over 20 years was as a member of the Chicago Fire
Department, retiring from those duties just last year. He has served the people
of Chicago along with the communities of Roseland, Hegewisch, and South Chicago.
At the same time Lopez has earned state certification as an EMT-B, Hazardous
Materials Technician, and FAA clearance official. Coach Lopez and his wife Heidi
reside in Chicago and have three sons. Colton, the oldest, and Mason, were both
pitchers at NCAA Division III affiliate Beloit College in Wisconsin. His
youngest son Merek is a 13-year old eighth grader in Whiting, Indiana.

LLOYD TURNER

Director Of Outfield Training

LLOYD TURNER

Director Of Outfield Training

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello, I am Lloyd Turner!  I am excited to be on the advisory board of this
amazing organization. Baseball has been apart my life since I can remember.  My
journey has been great and has taught me many life lessons along the way. Things
such as hard work, persistence, and being studious has helped in huge ways. In
1998, the Dodgers drafted me out of High School and I proceeded to attend Middle
Georgia Junior College for more development and education. In 2002 the Oakland
A’s drafted me as a senior out of Kennesaw State University. Going into
professional baseball, I was a middle infielder with some experience as an
outfielder. With the versatility, I was able to become a utility player in my
career and it afforded me the opportunity to play 11 seasons with Triple-A being
the highest level. I began my coaching career immediately after hanging up the
cleats and it has been an amazing experience thus far. Going into my 9th season,
I was a hitting coach for 6 years at the Short season and Low-A levels, as well
as Manager at the Low-A level in Beloit, Wisconsin.  Within this period, I
contributed to leading and developing the Outfield program for our Minor League
System. I am now taking on a new role as a Hitting Coach that will entail more
use of technology and data to help develop the hitters.  Along with the playing,
I was able to complete my Bachelors and Master Degree programs in Business and
Accounting. As I continue to grow in this game, it is my mission to be impactful
to help young baseball players reach their full potential.  I am a proud Husband
and a Father to two boys and a girl.  Since the cleats have been hung up, my
newfound passion is golfing and for some reason I keep chasing the challenging
sports.
