WELCOME

Situated in the town of Forteau on the spectacular southern Labrador coast,
Forteau Bay Cottages are ideally located for travellers touring Labrador Coastal
Drive — the driving route through southern Labrador.

A short trail leads from Forteau Bay Cottages to the sandy beach.

We offer clean, comfortable, quality accommodations in a warm and relaxed
atmosphere. Our cottages are especially popular with couples and families, and
we're dog-friendly (limited availability).

STAY WITH US AND DISCOVER LABRADOR

Stay with us and you'll find many Things To Do right outside your cottage door:
beachcombing, bird watching, berry picking and more. A short drive takes you to
Point Amour, where you can climb the tallest lighthouse in Atlantic Canada and
learn about our unique maritime history.

Further afield on Labrador Coastal Drive you can discover 16th century Basque
whaling at Red Bay and the historic fishing enterprise at Battle Harbour. And
there's lots more for you to see and do!

Now an historic site, Point Amour Lighthouse was built in the 1850s to serve a
new steamship route.
Original artifacts and interpretation relate 16th century Basque history at Red
Bay.
The story of Labrador's cod fishery is told at the unique island community of
Battle Harbour.



 


WE'RE OPEN YEAR-ROUND

Forteau Bay Cottages are open year-round. Enjoy summer touring of our historic
sites and a hike along our trails and shorelines — or embark on some winter fun
with snowmobiling, cross-country skiiing and ice fishing.
