The Safeguarding Adults 2024 conference is an essential meeting that brings together professionals from various sectors to discuss and address important issues related to safeguarding adults at risk of harm. This conference aims to raise awareness, share best practices, and collaborate on strategies to protect adults at risk of abuse or neglect. Information from the Safeguarding Adults Collection in England between April 2022 and March 2023 revealed that approximately 587,965 concerns of abuse against adults had been raised, which was an increase of nine per cent on the previous year. Approximately 2.6 million people over the age of 65 are victims of abuse each year in the UK but it is likely this figure is not a true reflection due to under reporting. This conference will seek to promote a culture of protection and support for those at risk through a series of keynote speeches, delivered by renowned safeguarding experts, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. The agenda will focus on current challenges and trends, provide practical tools and strategies for safeguarding adults, and contribute to enhanced skills and practice. If you have a safeguarding responsibility and wish to gain new insights and knowledge, learn from experts in the field, engage in meaningful conversations to improve safeguarding practices nationally, and build connections with like-minded professionals, BOOK YOUR PLACE TODAY This conference is designed to induce change with knowledge, innovation, and inspiration. Any transformation of a process or service requires the input of products and services devised to make improvements such as digital technologies; training provision; workforce planning; outsourced services; data and analytics etc. If your organisation supports change through your products and services, our delegates and conference participants will be ready to engage with you. * CONFIRMED SPEAKERS Becci Owen Assistant National Mental Health Lead, Oasis Community Learning Dr Rebecca Humphreys Clinical Neuropsychologist, Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust Homeless Services Donna Ohdedar CEO & Founder, Review Consulting Ltd Christina Green Head of Adult Services, Tri.x Saskia Lightburn-Ritchie CEO, MyCWA Katy McGlynn Children and Young People’s Service Manager , MyCWA Sheree Green TEP Director, Greenchurch Legal Services and a STEP spokesperson Patricia Sunday Global Professional Instructor, CPI Dr Victoria Teggart Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist , Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust Homeless Services PC Jim Day Financial Abuse Safeguarding and Prevention Officer Financial Abuse Safeguarding and Prevention Officer, Cheshire Police Afrah Qassim Founder & CEO, Savera Ben Williams Head of Innovation, Care City Becci Owen Assistant National Mental Health Lead, Oasis Community Learning Dr Rebecca Humphreys Clinical Neuropsychologist, Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust Homeless Services Donna Ohdedar CEO & Founder, Review Consulting Ltd Christina Green Head of Adult Services, Tri.x Saskia Lightburn-Ritchie CEO, MyCWA Katy McGlynn Children and Young People’s Service Manager , MyCWA Sheree Green TEP Director, Greenchurch Legal Services and a STEP spokesperson Patricia Sunday Global Professional Instructor, CPI Dr Victoria Teggart Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist , Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust Homeless Services PC Jim Day Financial Abuse Safeguarding and Prevention Officer Financial Abuse Safeguarding and Prevention Officer, Cheshire Police Afrah Qassim Founder & CEO, Savera Ben Williams Head of Innovation, Care City Becci Owen Assistant National Mental Health Lead, Oasis Community Learning Dr Rebecca Humphreys Clinical Neuropsychologist, Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust Homeless Services Donna Ohdedar CEO & Founder, Review Consulting Ltd Christina Green Head of Adult Services, Tri.x Saskia Lightburn-Ritchie CEO, MyCWA Katy McGlynn Children and Young People’s Service Manager , MyCWA EVENT SPONSORS AND SUPPORTERS * 1 * 2 * 3 * 4 * 5 * 6 * 7 * 8 Become a sponsor? By exploring past experiences and vulnerabilities, victims can gain self-awareness and change their perspective. This empowers them to make better choices in the future and reduces the risk of repeat victimisation.
