SYNOPSIS

A dreamy Tinder match. Two tango aficionados meet for the first time and it
turns out to be a hell of a date!

primera vez y la cita se vuelve endiabladamente candente!

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

This short combines 4 of my passions: 

 * The supernatural 

 * Film noir 

 * Tango & 

 * 1940's music.

My aim was to make a very short, fast paced, and fun short that ended on a
surprising reveal.

As a Mexican, I grew up reading masters of Magic Realism, like Carlos Fuentes,
Isabel Allende and Cortázar so everything I write is always sprinkled with a
dose of fantasy.... and erotism of course, because that's right up my alley...

In terms of look I made a great deal of effort in the color correction arena. I
aimed to do a clear progression in color temperatures, going from realistic
palettes, all the way up to deep greens and blues emulating Guillermo del Toro's
"The shape of Water", and end up with very deep reds studying Coppola's
"Dracula". 

It was a labor of love for which I carefully planned every single detail from
wardrobe, to choreography, to set design and shooting list. 


I edited in a relatively short amount of time, but took a long time to find the
best SFX specialist that really understood and could execute my vision. I
finally found THE one, Ian Kursakov, based in Russia with whom I corresponded
with via Skype during 3 months with a 12 hour difference. (3 am for me- 3 pm for
him)

I am very pleased that Jordi Caballero, my partner in crime, accepted my offer
despite being on tour with Bocelli!

Overall I had a fantastic team from Michael Pascasio, DP, to Blas Kisic, sound
engineer, all the way up to Jeff Alan Jones, composer. I’m very grateful for
their support.

A lot of happenstances occurred during the shooting and that is all good stories
for Q & A s.

CECILIA ROBLES

Cecilia Robles is an escapist. Her 3 passions are cinema, literature and
traveling. After flying 3 years for Mexicana de Aviación and globetrotting
around the 5 continents, she studied film, literature and acting in 5 different
countries. She is fluent in 5 languages and has graduated from 5 universities
(CUEC, SORBONNE, UMA, UCLA and IIN).

She is the author of the erotic novel BIENVENIDOS A BORDO, based on her
questionable adventures as a flight attendant. As for TINDER TANGO, she has also
written, directed, produced, starred, and edited several shorts that have
screened in prestigious festivals.

Her film ALTA EXPOSICIÓN, was granted the HBO US LATINO BEST SHORT FILM AWARD at
the San Diego Latino Film Festival, and TINDER TANGO has been selected in 30
festivals in 6 months and won:


-Best horror short, Lead actress, editing and VFX at the SFAAF in CHILE
-Best Horror Short at the TORONTO INTL. WOMEN FILM FESTIVAL
-Best Horror short at the LA INDEPENDENDENT WOMEN FILM FESTIVAL
-Best Horror short at the SOUTHERN CONE INT:. FILM FESTIVAL
-Best Lead Actress nominee at the OREGON SCREAM WEEK FILM FESTIVAL
-Lust award nominee at the upcoming SIN FILM FESTIVAL in Miami.

She runs two YOUTUBE channels, one in Spanish and one in English about holistic
health. She is currently seeking production partners for her two TV pilots TE LA
VOLASTE & ESPEJITO ESPEJITO.


JORDI CABALLERO

Jordi Caballero is an actor, dancer-choreographer, musician and producer with a
knack for crossing boundaries in the entertainment industry. 

Jordi has appeared in hit TV shows such as SEX AND THE CITY, GRIMM, CSI MIAMI,
JUSTIFIED, DISJOINTED, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, ENTOURAGE, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, THE
UNIT and THE SHIELD, among many others.

Jordi Caballero was the Supervising Choreographer for the season premiere
of Dancing with the Stars (2019). and worked with musical artists such as Cher,
Madonna, Usher, Tony Bennett, Jennifer López, Macy Gray, Jane’s
Addiction and Andrea Bocelli, among many others. 

Over the past several years Jordi has emerged as a producer of original
entertainment content including TANGO SHALOM (Post Production), THE LAST
ANALOGUE HIT: MACARENA: The last analog hit (2021), LA CARGA (2016), After the
Rain (2016), DANCING FOR MY HAVANA (2015) and THE WORLD CHOREOGRAPHY AWARDS
(2015, 2016 & 2017).


MICHAEL PESCASIO

Michael Pescasio was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. His production
experience began early as a summer job on feature films shooting on location in
Baltimore. After graduating from Mount Saint Joseph's College Prep Michael
packed up his car and headed west, to the University of Southern California
School of Cinema-Television.

While in school, Michael took advantage of his location and worked as a grip and
electrician. This practical experience helped him advance quickly. He became a
Key Grip in the commercial/music video industry. He then moved into the feature
film world as a Technocrane Operator for Panavision Remote Systems. This gave
him the opportunity to work with the most talent Directors of Photography in
Hollywood.

Moving forward and becoming a Lighting Director for several top Commercial/Music
Video Cinematographers, Michael took the opportunity to shoot when it came.

After winning the International Cinematographer's Guild 2004 Showcase, Michael
has been shooting spots and videos for many clients and hopes to continue his
journey forward in the Entertainment Industry.


BLAS KISIC

Born in Venezuela, Blas earned a BA in Mass Media at the UCAB in Caracas, before
he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in filmmaking.

He was lucky enough to find work in music videos and low-budget commercials as a
PA, before joining the staff of Luca Bentivoglio Productions which was, at the
time, producing three weekly shows for the national Spanish-Speaking network
Univisión.

After a few web series and a number of festival-bound short films, he
established himself as a dedicated professional - and his experience in
postproduction has proved valuable in offering producers the best possible
location recording.

Most of the work Blas does nowadays is on TV commercials (for major brands such
as McDonald's, Campbell's Soup, Little Caesar's and Toyota, among others) and
he's been very fortunate to work with such stars as Jeff Bridges, Betty White,
Stan Lee and Jeff Godlblum.
