Here’s some handy information to help you make the most of your new broadband. HOW WE INSTALL FULL FIBRE BROADBAND TO YOUR BUILDING AND HOME To begin with, we prepare the cables in your street. We keep disruption to a minimum and usually run our fibre optic cabling through existing pipes or ducts under the road or pavement. Here’s a full rundown of what to expect when we install our broadband into your building or home. Your journey to better broadband Our installation usually takes up to two hours. We are available to install your new connection on Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5pm. WE ARRIVE Our engineer will show their ID and wear protective gear. We‘ll advise the best route for internal cabling and best position for your Mesh WiFi router. WE CABLE We’ll drill a small 6-8mm hole in your wall to bring the fibre optic cable into your home. It’s usually located close to the door, balcony or window. WE INSTALL We’ll wall mount the fibre socket, the modem and the Mesh WiFi router and also position any additional routers you’ve ordered to maximise their coverage. WE CONNECT We’ll test your speeds through a fixed connection and through WiFi and will connect up to two of your devices. We’ll provide you with your username and password before cleaning and tidying up after ourselves. WHAT AFFECTS BROADBAND SPEED? Our advertised speeds are for a single wired (Ethernet) connection plugged into our router. Your WiFi connection may be affected by interference from other devices and the position of your router resulting in slower speeds. Your speed will be divided and shared between all your connected devices, so it’s best to have a higher speed for multi-user households. Discover our superfast broadband packages HIGH QUALITY ROUTERS FOR BETTER WIFI COVERAGE We offer WiFi 6 routers and intelligent Mesh™ technology to improve coverage throughout your home. Explore high speed Premium WiFi FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do I book an installation? Book online using our Postcode Checker or Package Selector on our main page and you’ll be taken through the steps to choose your installation date and time. How much is your set up fee? There is a £14.95 installation and set up fee. Can I install the equipment myself? Unfortunately, not. Our network fibre cables come all the way into your home and need to be connected to your equipment by one of our trained engineers. The installation of your service will require a home visit by one of our engineers. So let us do the heavy lifting and handle the guesswork. If you have our Premium WiFi service, our engineers will tailor your router installation to the specific needs of your home to ensure that you get whole home coverage (12 rooms in total with up to five bedrooms across a maximum of three floors). Can I use my existing router? Our equipment is compatible with third-party routers should a customer wish to use one. However, we do not provide support or troubleshooting on any equipment other than those we supply. Do I need to be home when it’s installed? Ideally the account holder should be there to make sure they’re 100% happy with the installation. If this isn’t possible, a responsible adult (aged 18 or over) needs to be present. What if I cannot attend the installation appointment? You can amend your installation appointment online here up to 48 hours before your installation appointment. You will need your order reference number from your confirmation email and email address. If you wish to amend your appointment less than 48 hours prior, please let us know immediately on 0800 082 0770 from Monday to Friday, 8am-9pm and weekends and bank holidays, 9am-7pm. I seem to have more devices every year No matter how many devices you want to connect now, or in the future, we have the speeds and services to match your household needs.
