Since 2018, we have acted as a venture builder and growth equity investor for
the Migros Group with a lot of passion, commitment, and dedication. Now Sparrow
Ventures’ journey has come to an end. Following a comprehensive analysis, Migros
decided not to continue with Sparrow Ventures. Read more here.

MIGROS STRENGTHENS THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY BY BUYING SHARES IN REVENDO

Jan `23 - We are pleased to announce that we acquired shares in Revendo. Within
a decade, the Swiss start-up managed to build up a flourishing business and to
position itself as the number-one provider in Switzerland for used electronic
devices. An online shop, ten stores of its own and 140 employees are evidence of
the company’s successful track record. Migros believes in the potential of
sustainable circular business models, and with the purchase of Revendo shares,
is setting an example with regard to the circular economy.

BESTSMILE DOUBLES ITS PRODUCTION SPACE IN WINTERTHUR

Nov `22 - We are proud to say, that since its foundation in 2018, bestsmile has
developed into the market leader in dental correction, specialising in the
manufacture of aligners and veneers. The Swiss start-up, in which we first
invested three years ago and which was taken over by Migros in March this year,
has now laid the foundations for yet more growth, doubling the size of its
factory in Winterthur to 500 square meters and upgrading its infrastructure
significantly. Various industrial 3D printers, CNC milling machines, and plasma
ovens are used at the factory. The key component is a manufacturing robot
developed in close cooperation with the OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule.
Thanks to this one-of-a-kind machine, bestsmile can fully automatically produce
10,000 high-quality, tailor-made aligners a week. This innovative technology
enables dental braces to be punched out residue-free and sorted automatically by
customer. That's unique throughout Europe.

MIGROS ENTERS THE RENTAL BUSINESS WITH THE START-UP YUNO

Oct `22 - We are happy to introduce Yuno, our latest start-up. By renting out
entertainment electronics, Yuno offers the Swiss population a flexible and
sustainable alternative to purchasing and is thus serving a rapidly growing
trend. Launched as a test project in December 2021, the company has grown much
faster than originally anticipated since entering the market in May of this
year. To date, Yuno has received growth financing in the single-digit million
range and wants to aim high with these funds.

WEPRACTICE STRENGTHENS MANAGEMENT AND CONTINUES GROWTH

Sep `22 - We are happy to announce that WePractice, the modern group medical
practice for mental health developed by Sparrow Ventures, is growing. WePractice
was launched as a project in 2020 and has now received growth financing (series
B) in the higher single-digit million range after successfully completing its
market launch. The ambitious growth plan is already running at full speed. The
mental health start-up offers psychotherapists and psychological coaches a
Switzerland-wide network of shared practices featuring co-working areas. In
addition, a specially developed online platform that includes a directory of
therapists makes it easier for the Swiss population to access suitable
therapists and coaches.

SPARROW VENTURES INVESTS IN CAMPING PLATFORM NOMADY

Jun `22 - We are happy to announce that we invested in the Swiss start-up
Nomady. It is our first investment in the travel segment. The online booking
platform arranges private camping-sites and simple accommodation in the
countryside. Since its foundation in 2019 by Oliver Huber and Paolo de Caro, the
start-up from Einsiedeln has experienced strong growth and established itself as
the leading marketplace for sustainable tourism in Switzerland. Over 500 offers
from hosts in Switzerland and the neighbouring countries of France, Germany,
Italy and Austria are already available on nomady.camp, and the number is
growing. The booking rate is constantly increasing. The investment was launched
together with Hotelplan Group. Our common goal is to strengthen sustainable,
nature-based tourism and expand the range of travel options for people in
Switzerland and beyond.
