We have the pleasure of welcoming you to the next edition of the Conference on
Complex Systems CCS2023 in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil. The CCS is the largest and
most important annual meeting of the international complex systems community. It
comes under the auspices of the Complex Systems Society. This edition, organized
by SENAI CIMATEC, takes place after previous events hold in, Mallorca, Lyon,
Singapore, Thessaloniki and Cancun.




We welcome you all in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil at this time of the year, for an
in-person conference. Still, keynote and some sessions will be organized as a
hybrid conference. We now offer online registration through our link.

Dress Code on Campus

When attending the conference on campus, please adhere to the following dress
code guidelines:


You are welcome to dress in business casual, casual, or comfortable attire.
However, access is not permitted when wearing tank tops, shorts, mini-skirts,
mini or micro dresses, flip-flops, or open sandals. We appreciate your
cooperation in maintaining a respectful and professional atmosphere during the

 1. Registration fee has to be paid before the deadline for early registration;
    otherwise your registration fee will be updated to the current one.
 2. If PhD and Students registration is selected, you may be requested to
    provide the proof of this category; otherwise you will be requested to pay
    the registration difference amount.
 3. Full payments are required in advance to the conference start. A
    confirmation voucher and invoice will be sent right after we received the
    payment. Please review it carefully and take note of your registration
    number. This number will be requested for any change or check.

Presenters must register to have their presentations confirmed. Each presenter
can register for a maximum of two presentations at Parallel Sessions

VISA




The visa is the document granted by Consular Representations of Brazil abroad
that allows the expectation of admission and stay of foreigners in the national
territory, provided that the conditions established by law have been met.

To apply for a visa, foreigners must submit the visa application form duly
completed, a valid travel document, proof of payment of consular fees,
International Certificate of Immunization - when necessary -, and other specific
documents for the type of visa requested.


To apply for a Visa

IMPORTANT: We inform you that the visa waiver for American, Canadian and
Australian passport holders is in effect until January 10, 2024. Starting from
this date, the requirement for visitor visas will be reinstated for citizens of
the United States, Australia, and Canada. For trips before January 10, 2024,
there is no need to present a visa, even if your return trip is after this date.

People from Japan will no longer need a visa to visit Brazil, due to the recent
reciprocal agreement.

Grants

The CCS23 budget allows us to cover a small number of grants offered to eligible
undergraduate and graduate students who plan to present their work at the
conference but cannot afford the full costs. Currently, these grants mainly
consist of an fee waiver. You must be a full-time student author in an
undergraduate, or graduate program, who will present your accepted contribution
talk at the conference.

You must have submitted your abstract by the abstract submission deadline.
Unfortunately, postdoctoral researchers (who have completed their PhD, ScD, or
MD programs) are not eligible at this point.


If you are eligible to apply for the grant and have received your official
abstract acceptance notification email, you should complete the form (link) to
request the grant. Along with the form, please include a short paragraph
explaining the motivation and importance of attending CCS2023, as well as a
reference letter from your supervisor or department head advocating for the
necessity of such a grant and confirming whether it will enable the applicant to
attend the conference.

Due Date for complete this form: August 21, 2023.

Results: August 25, 2023.

Volunteer

If you are from South America, you may be eligible for the CCS 2023 volunteer
program. It is offered to undergraduate and graduate students who plan to
present their work in-person at the conference but cannot afford the full costs.
At this point, volunteering will waive 50% of your fee. We will select 10
students to both volunteer and participate in the conference. You must be a
full-time student author in an undergraduate, or graduate program, who will
present your accepted contribution (talk or poster) at the conference.

If you are eligible to apply for the volunteer program and have received your
official abstract acceptance notification email, please complete the form (link)
to request the volunteer opportunity. Additionally, include a short paragraph
explaining the motivation and importance of attending CCS2023, as well as a
reference letter from your supervisor or department head supporting the need for
this discount and confirming whether it will enable the applicant to attend the
conference.
