ARE THE ABCS OF ATTRACTION A SCAM OR FRAUD?! When you see a company endorsed by as many people as the ABCs of Attraction you tend to be a little skeptical. With so many shams and hucksters out there these days claiming to be able to teach guys to pickup women in 2 hours or less, it’s a little hard to tell who is the real deal and who is out to squeeze the last bit of hard-earned cash from your pocket and leave you with a few useless dating tips. In my quest to find out whether this company was worth learning from I set out to see whether Asian Playboy and the ABCs of Attraction actually deliver as well as they say they do or if they were just another one of these fly-by-night companies trying to swindle the working man. Who is Asian Playboy? After some digging around, it turned out that the Asian Playboy’s background is pretty legit. Before he became a dating “guru”, he was Jerry (JT) Tran, a little known aerospace engineer from a Dallas, Texas who worked in Los Angeles as a contractor. In 2004, he became one of the early students of renowned dating guru Mystery, training alongside several other well-known pickup artists. He posted on Fast Seduction under the handle JT47319 while training in pickup. Unlike others, Asian Playboy has actually kept a running blog for the past several years which documented his exploits in the underground dating community and his sexual adventures with women. Reading it from beginning to end actually details his journey from average frustrated chump to successful pickup artist, as well as gives readers a glimpse into his private life and how he became who he is today. Apparently around 2005, after he began to surpass his peers, he began independently coaching others upon request. What I found interesting was that instead of being hired on to a major pickup company (which is what seems to be the case with most coaches these days) APB was forced to start his own company to meet the demand of people who had heard his story and wanted to learn from him. Like Mystery himself, Asian Playboy started from the ground up and did not feed off of other established companies to get his start. But I still wasn’t convinced… It’s easy to sing your own praises on your personal blog, but how can I know that it’s for real? To get some more perspective, I visited the ABCsofAttraction.com Web site to see if the product matched the message. To my surprise, when I went digging for information into APB’s principles, I came across literally hundreds of testimonials from students claiming to have completely changed their game after attending one of his certified bootcamps. I have to say that was an eye-opener considering that we’re talking about an independent company here… so, more intrigued, I decided to press further. Even with the testimonials, I wanted hard evidence before I was willing to put my love life into the hands of this company – after all, pickup classes aren’t cheap. What the big dogs were saying. Surfing around the Internet a bit, I started seeing youtube videos of APB being interviewed on ABC and a few other TV stations, as well as some magazine and newspaper articles that seemed to back his claims. Interestingly enough, there were also some live videos of him speaking at Harvard University, which I found pretty impressive. Nevertheless, I wanted to see if this guy was the real deal around the PUA circuits (that’s slang for pickup artist for those of you who don’t know). What I discovered was that Asian Playboy has actually been voted the #1 Asian Pickup artist in the world four years running at the World Pickup Artist Summit – the biggest seduction community gathering in the world. But what struck me the most was that Asian Playboy was ALSO included as one of the Top 10 Pickup Artists in the world according to Thundercat’s Lair, which is basically the end-all be-all of the best in the business as it featured heavily in Neil Strauss’ The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists. That last point was enough to have me convinced. I felt that I was ready to take a bootcamp. But there was just one more thing to consider. $$$$$ Finally, it was time to tackle the elephant in the room: PRICE! I know that these pickup companies usually charge around $4,000 for a three-day bootcamp, which is well worth it if it works, but I was really hoping to go a little easier on the pocketbook. (Hey, times are hard!) Heading to the ABC’s of Attraction product page, which is offered through the easy-to-use Eventbrite (see it here) I was blown away. I saw bootcamps for prices as low as $1500, and for a MAXIMUM of $2500, depending on when, where and who you take it with. Now, at the time I was looking, Asian Playboy had also sent out an email about how he was dropping prices because of the bad economy, but it was staggering how much he actually dropped them. And get this, you can save HUNDREDS of dollars if you sign up early. I guess the plan is to offer an extra reward to get people in seats early, which was fine by me. To make this even better, I found a special discount code online for Asian Playboy and the ABCs of Attraction bootcamps and programs which knocked an additional hundred dollars off the purchase price, and I’m more than happy to pass it along. Just go to the purchase page here and enter: “abcsreader” in the code box. I’m pretty sure it still works. All in all I paid about ONE FOURTH of what I would have paid had I taken one of the other top-tier bootcamps. So the last point I want to add about this company is that they offer a very good follow up plan, where APB and his coaches actually invite alumni to free events all over the world and share dating tips so you don’t get rusty. They also have coaches available online who can help you break through your day-to-day obstacles. I admit, I haven’t taken advantage of many of these freebies yet as my skills are still going strong but I hear from my bootcamp buddies that they are pretty awesome. Anyways, my plan is in no way to try to sway you to take pickup workshops if you are already good with women, as that would be a waste of time and money. But if you were like me and just couldn’t seem to have the success you were looking for in your love life, I would highly endorse this company.
