r%20of%20shows%20I%20did%20watch%20and%20made%20a%20smol%20graphic.%20I%E2%80%99m%20ranking%20all%20of%20them%20in%20my%20next%20blog%20post%20so%20hold%20out%20for%20those.%20They%20were%20all%20pretty%20great%20though!%20Once%20again,%20for%20the%20gals%20who%20don%E2%80%99t%20do%20math,%20my%20calculator%20tells%20me%20that%2072%20hours%20is%20the%20equivalent%20of%203%20days%20(obviously)%20and%20also%204%20320%20minutes.%202023%20RECAP:%20CONTENT%20CREATION%20As%20you%20may%20have%20noticed,%20the%20content%20was%20few%20and%20far%20between%20in%202023.%20I%20went%20out%20a%20lot%20this%20year%20and%20was%20spending%20my%20time%20socially%20and%20academically%20for%20the%20better%20part%20of%20the%20year.%20I%20also%20moved,%20which%20affects%20my%20photo%20taking%20and%20it%20now%20requires%20more%20work%20to%20go%20to%20a%20location.%20Therefore%20blog%20and%20grid%20photos%20took%20a%20lot%20for%20me%20to%20put%20together%20BUT%20I%20was%20active%20in%20video%20form%20aka%20on%20Reels%20and%20TikTok.%20Mostly%20since%20I%20was%20documenting%20when%20I%20went%20out%20to%20the%20cinema%20and%20book%20events%20etc%20oops%20I%20just%20like%20to%20reflect%20on%20what%20I%20posted%20most%20really,%20so%20this%20bit%20is%20kinda%20boring%20this%20year.%202024%20GOALS%20I%E2%80%99m%20keeping%20this%20section%20short%20and%20sweet%20because%20I%20sincerely%20have%20no%20expectations%20for%20the%20year.%20Haven%E2%80%99t%20received%20grades%20yet%20and%20I%E2%80%99m%20also%20looking%20for%20jobs.%20So%20it%E2%80%99s%20a%20year%20of%20unknown.%20But%20I%20have%20some%20small%20goals!!!%20READ%2050%20BOOKS%20Not%20sure%20how%20it%20will%20go%20since%20I%20want%20to%20go%20into%20book%20publishing%20and%20idk%20how%20many%20manuscripts%20I%E2%80%99ll%20be%20working%20on.%20My%20sub-goal%20is%20to%20read%20more%20carefully,%20which%20I%20mostly%20did%20last%20year%20so%20I%E2%80%99m%20just%20going%20to%20continue%20on%20with%20that.%20The%20only%20deviation%20from%20that%20is%20to%20go%20to%20the%20physical%20TBR,,,%20READ%20NON-FICTION%20I%20was%20on%20Tiktok%20the%20other%20day,%20as%20one%20is,%20and%20someone%20mentioned%20staying%20academically%20stimulated%20after%20graduation%20which%20is%20something%20that%20really%20resonated%20with%20me.%20I%20have%20a%20friend%20continuing%20studies%20so%20I%E2%80%99ll%20still%20stay%20in%20touch%20with%20academia%20that%20way.%20But%20what%20I%20would%20like%20to%20stay%20learning%20in%202024%E2%80%A6%20if%20that%20makes%20sense?%20It%E2%80%99s%20a%20rather%20small%20goal%20but%20I%20want%20to%20squeeze%20in%20some%20of%20the%20non-fiction%20that%20is%20on%20my%20shelf%20and%20maybe%20some%20articles%20here%20and%20there.%20Should%20be%20fun.%20GAIN%20WORK%20EXPERIENCE%20Mostly%20self-explanatory%20as%20I%E2%80%99m%20begging%20around%20for%20anybody%20to%20give%20me%20a%20chance.%20Hopefully%20this%20includes%20me%20reading%20all%20the%20books%20and%20a%20bit%20of%20freelance%20content%20creation.%20Maybe%20you%E2%80%99ll%20see%20more%20of%20maybe,%20maybe%20the%20same%20amount,%20who%20can%20say?%20POST%20ON%20SUBSTACK%20I%E2%80%99m%20not%20going%20anywhere%20but%20I%20thought%20it%E2%80%99d%20be%20fun%20to%20start%20using%20my%20Substack%20for%20anyone%20who%20uses%20that%20platform%20to%20read%20posts.%20I%E2%80%99ll%20mostly%20be%20using%20it%20to%20repost%20my%20posts%20here%20but%20perhaps%20you%E2%80%99ll%20get%20some%20exclusive%20content?%20Not%20sure%20yet%20FOLLOW%20ME%20ON%20SUBSTACK%20And%20those%20are%20the%20goals,%20here%E2%80%99s%20to%202024!!!%20Sending%20you%20all%20love%20and%20light%20and%20stunning%20books%20%3C3%3C3%3C3%20HOW%20WAS%20YOUR%20YEAR?%20WHAT%20DID%20YOU%20GET%20UP%20TO%20IN%202023?%20DID%20YOU%20REACH%20ANY%20GOALS?%20WHAT%20WOULD%20YOU%20LIKE%20TO%20ACCOMPLISH%20IN%202024?%20I%E2%80%99D%20LOVE%20TO%20KNOW!nhttps://rubyraereads.co.za/2024/01/08/2023-reading-films-blogging-recap/

20you%20know%20how%20many%20times%20I%20resisted%20the%20urge%20for%20a%20hot%20chocolate%20in%20the%20middle%20of%20summer?%20Too%20many%20if%20you%20ask%20me,%20but%20I%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20about%20to%20overheat%20myself%20more%20than%20necessary,,,%20The%20magic%20was%20so%20much%20fun.%20I%20think%20you%20definitely%20should%20go%20in%20not%20expecting%20fantasy%20and%20suspend%20your%20disbelief%20in%20that%20regard.%20Instead,%20just%20believe%20in%20the%20festive%20fun%20and%20pretend%20Santa%20does%20grant%20wishes.%20Not%20that%20I%20say%20otherwise,%20of%20course,%20he%20is%20real.%20But%20the%20best%20part%20was%20the%20crazy%20family%20dynamics%20that%20reminded%20me%20a%20teensy%20bit%20of%20The%20Family%20Stone%20and%20I%20live%20for%20the%20chaos.%20Reason:%20I%20relate.%20But%20this%20family%20in%20particular%20took%20me%20through%20all%20of%20the%20emotions%20and%20I%20welcomed%20that%20rollercoaster.%20Possibly?%20It%20was%20fun%20I%20guess.%20I%20hated%20Bettie%E2%80%99s%20family%20and%20then%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20then%20I%20wanted%20to%20strangle%20Bettie%20for%20being%20stupid.%20Got%20whiplash%20a%20bit.%20Bettie%20in%20particular%20is%20such%20a%20flawed%20character%20which%20I%20did%20not%20expect%20and%20so%20thoroughly%20appreciated.%20She%20makes%20a%20lot%20of%20bad%20and%20immature%20decisions%20at%20the%20beginning%20and%20it%20is%20so%20frustrating%20to%20watch%20BUT%20her%20character%20development%20absolutely%20paid%20off.%20What%20I%20loved%20most%20was%20how%20much%20I%20saw%20myself%20in%20Bettie,,,%20I%20relate%20to%20feeling%20like%20the%20odd%20one%20out%20in%20my%20own%20family%20which%20you%20learn%20comes%20from%20miscommunication%20a%20lot%20of%20the%20time%20and%20it%20was%20such%20a%20refreshing%20take,%20especially%20in%20a%20Christmas%20rom-com.%20This%20leads%20us%20to%20Hall%20and%20how%20badly%20I%20want%20that%20ray%20of%20sunshine%20in%20my%20life%20right%20now%20and%20speaking%20of,%20what%20a%20wonderous%20pairing%20of%20literal%20forced%20proximity%20grumpy/sunshine%20and%20mayhaps%20the%20bestest%20take%20on%20this%20trope%20ever%20known%20to%20romance.%20Just%20my%20opinion%20*wink%20wink*%20Okay%20Bettie%20and%20Hall%20are%20SOOO%20cute%20what%20the%20heck?%20I%E2%80%99m%20just%20a%20sucker%20when%20it%20comes%20to%20rooting%20for%20the%20human%20and%20semi-non-real%20humans%20for%20some%20reason%20*cough*%20Flo%20and%20Benji%20from%20The%20Dead%20Romantics%20*cough*%20Can%E2%80%99t%20explain%20myself%20but%20they%20were%20so%20much%20fun.%20Where%20is%20my%20Christmas%20angel%20to%20procure%20giant%20gingerbread%20houses%20out%20of%20thin%20air?%20Gimme%20some%20of%20that.%20Agh%20I%20just%20loved%20watching%20their%20antics%20and%20giggly%20banter%20and%20the%20SLOW%20FREAKING%20BURN%20CHEFS%20FREAKING%20KISS%20I%20want%20a%20Hall%20of%20my%20own,%20please!!!!%20Before%20I%20go,%20in%20summary,%20here%20are%20the%20comp%20titles:%F0%9F%8E%84%20A%20Christmas%20Carol%20by%20Charles%20Dickens%F0%9F%8E%84%20The%20Family%20Stone%20(2005)%F0%9F%8E%84%20The%20Dead%20Romantics%20by%20Ashley%20Poston%20Henceforth,%20I%20shall%20go%20and%20play%20Mariah%20backwards%20and%20conjure%20myself%20a%20Christmas%20spirit.%20Stop%20laughing%20at%20me%20and%20just%20go%20read%20this%20whacko%20holiday%20book%20before%20it%E2%80%99s%20too%20late%20and%20give%20yourself%20all%20the%20merry%20feels%20xoxoxox%20%C2%A0%20%E2%80%9CHe%20folds%20me%20into%20a%20hug,%20and%20I%20go%20very%20still%20before%20ultimately%20melting%20into%20him.%20%E2%80%9CI%20know%20you%E2%80%99ve%20probably%20heard%20this%20advice%20before,%20but%20you%20don%E2%80%99t%20have%20to%20forgive%20the%20people%20who%20are%20bad%20to%20you.%20However,%20if%20they%E2%80%99re%20not%20ever%20going%20to%20give%20you%20the%20apology%20you%20require%20in%20order%20to%20move%20on,%20then%20you%20have%20to%20let%20it%20go%20for%20your%20own%20sake.%20The%20best%20revenge%20is%20making%20peace%20with%20a%20past%20you%20can%E2%80%99t%20change%20and%20figuring%20out%20how%20to%20make%20the%20future%20a%20happier%20place%20for%20yourself%20to%20live%20in.%20That%E2%80%99s%20how%20you%20come%20out%20on%20top.%E2%80%9D%20%F0%9F%8E%84%20%E2%80%9CI%20will%20always%20support%20you,%20even%20if%20it%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20look%20like%20it.%20Sometimes%20support%20looks%20like%20disagreeing%20with%20you%20or%20telling%20you%20that%20you%E2%80%99re%20on%20the%20wrong%20path.%20But%20your%20heart%20is%20in%20my%20heart,%20always,%20and%20all%20I%20want%20for%20you%20is%20a%20good,%20healthy%20life.%E2%80%9D%20%F0%9F%8E%84%20%E2%80%9CYou%E2%80%99re%20a%20powerful%20woman,%20Bettie%20Hughes.%E2%80%9D%20His%20lips%20twist.%20%E2%80%9CWhen%20you%20kissed%20me,%20I%20legitimately%20think%20it%20rewrote%20my%20DNA.%20And%20ever%20since,%20I%E2%80%99ve%20been%20dying%20to%20kiss%20you%20again.%E2%80%9D%20%F0%9F%8E%84%20%E2%80%9CPlenty%20of%20people%20have%20said%20pleasant%20comments%20to%20me%20over%20the%20course%20of%20my%20life.
