Saint Louis, MO 1 308 20 1/13/2017 I have an expensive Samsonite piece of luggage. Several years ago the TSA did a number on the zipper. I took the luggage in to Brentwood Shoe & Luggage. They examined it and said it would be $10 to repair and replace the zipper. 5 days and true to their word it was ready to be picked up. Great workmanship, timely repairs and fantastic price. He charged $50 each over priced but replacing my bags would have been a little bit kore expansive. The not so good - I never got a call telling me my bags were ready. The owner gave a hard time for not having my ticket. He initially wanted to charge $5 for each bag because I didn't have my ticket/receipts. I dropped off a backpack for a zipper repair in Feb 2021. The owner claims he gave the job to an employee who would perform the repair under her side business. When I never heard back on the repair (May 2021), the owner now claims he is not responsible. When I asked for his assistance to recover my property and to get a refund (I paid for the repair in advance), he refused and insisted I had to contact the former employee (yes, he also told me he "had to let her go"). Of course her email returns undeliverable and she will not return phone calls. I have placed two professionally conducted phone calls to him and have written a letter requesting his assistance. They ruined a suede bag and refused to give it back for 3 months. The lady took the bag as part of her "personal side business" and ruined it. When I asked them why they hadn't done what I asked & paid for both the female at the counter and the male hiding behind the racks became very aggressive. When I asked the lady to hand my shoes back over that I wanted to leave & exercise my right to go elsewhere, The male behind the rack yelled for me to "get the hell out of there and have a great fucking week" After handing my shoes back to me, the female came out from behind the counter and aggressively followed me outside yelling at me wanting to know what I thought was so wrong with that exchange! The 1st time I went was for my favorite pair of riding boots...the zipper broke on the left boot...no problem $25 fix. Fast forward 3 seasons & same boot (left) zipper breaks while I'm on vacation. They get some use, mainly during fall/winter & worn on weekends, so I'd expect for the brand new zippers they replaced to withstand less than a years worth of use.
