A QUICK LOOK

See how the new Helios2+ and Helios2 compares to the original Helios. The
Helios2+ is an advanced version of the Helios2 ToF camera offering two new key
features enabling deployment in challenging environments, High Dynamic Range
mode and High-Speed ToF mode, while retaining all other benefits of the Helios2.
The High Dynamic Range mode fuses multiple exposures in the phase domain to
provide accurate depth information in high contrast, complex scenes, containing
both highly reflective and low reflectivity objects. The High-Speed mode enables
depth perception using a single phase measurement to realize faster acquisition
speed and higher framerate compatible with moving object perception at the
expense of absolute accuracy and measuring distance range. Both HDR and High
Speed modes are realized entirely with on-camera processing and will impair
minimal changes on the vision systems back-end.

The Helios2+ shares the same ‘factory tough’ industrial platform with its
predecessor and is 100% mechanically and electronically compatible with the
Helios2 to offer a seamless upgrade path for existing customers.

HELIOS VIDEOS

The Helios2+ High Dynamic Range mode fuses multiple exposures in the phase
domain to provide accurate depth information in high contrast, complex scenes,
containing both highly reflective and low reflectivity objects.

The Helios2+ High-Speed mode enables depth perception using a single phase
measurement to realize faster acquisition speed and higher framerates. This
allows 3D imaging of moving objects without distortion at the expense of
accuracy and distance range.

The Helios2+ High Dynamic Range mode fuses multiple exposures in the phase
domain to provide accurate depth information in high contrast, complex scenes,
containing both highly reflective and low reflectivity objects.

The Helios2 combines a factory tough design with exceptional 3D precision and
accuracy into a compact IP67 machine vision camera. Featuring Sony’s IMX556PLR
DepthSense sensor, users are able to stream 3D point clouds in real time for use
in a variety of industrial applications. Learn what’s new in the Helios2 and how
it compares to the original Helios in this video.

Watch our extended Bin Picking webinar and learn how to improve your point cloud
for challenging objects such as shiny metals and plastics. See how changes in
image accumulation, exposure, gain, confidence, and spatial filtering settings
can increase point cloud quality with before and after image examples using our
ArenaView GUI with Helios2 3D ToF Camera.

FACTORY TOUGH DESIGN, 24/7 INDUSTRIAL OPERATION

The Helios2 ToF camera is engineered for high performance operation in
industrial environments. Built for demanding 24/7 environments and a variety of
industrial 3D applications such as robotics, 3D inspection, and logistics,
including advanced material handling, pick and place, sorting, palletization /
de-palletization, volume estimation, and more.

RAISING THE BAR FOR SUPERIOR TIME OF FLIGHT

The Helios2 architecture is engineered for the next generation of
high-performance 3D ToF imaging, delivering sub-millimeter precision and
improved accuracy compared to the previous Helios. The calibration between the
VCSELs and sensor timing is enhanced resulting in more 3D detail, along with
improved attention to edge detection to reduce flying pixels and overall noise.
3D calculations are done on-camera, reducing CPU load and freeing up host PC
resources.

Secure M12 Connection Go the Distance The M12 Ethernet port on the Helios2
provides a secure and sturdy connection for reliable camera operations in
demanding environments. Compact, easy integration, shock and vibration
resistant. Simplify your setup and maintenance thanks to PoE+ - use the Ethernet
cable to carry both data and power up to 100m cable lengths. Ethernet is
engineered to protect against EMI and crosstalk in industrial environments. 100m

FAST PROCESSING DIRECTLY ON THE CAMERA

By processing the data directly in the Helios2, you reduce the need for
expensive host system components. The 3D coordinates, intensity and confidence
data, are delivered directly from the camera. The point cloud data is generated
in real time.

EASY 3D CONTROLS

The Arena SDK includes easy to use controls for the Helios2 ToF camera.
ArenaView allows for 2D and 3D views: 2D view allows one to see the intensity
and depth of the scene from the camera’s perspective. 3D view displays a point
cloud of the scene and allows users to manipulate the orientation in real-time.
Additionally, settings can be changed in real-time such as false color overlay,
depth range adjustments, out of range color settings and more.
