Apply for a tree felling licence

beta This is a new service – your feedback will help us to improve it.

APPLY FOR A TREE FELLING LICENCE

You can apply if you are:

 * a woodland owner - individual
 * a woodland owner - organisation
 * a woodland tenant
 * an agent

Felling licences are valid for 5 years, but you may be able to apply for a
licence to cover longer-term felling activities as part of a woodland management
plan.

! Warning Felling trees without a licence, where one would have been required,
is an offence.

You may not need a felling licence if one or more exemptions apply to the
woodland.
