OEKO-TEX® LEATHER STANDARD:
LEATHER YOU CAN TRUST



WHETHER SHOES, CLOTHES, ACCESSORIES OR SOFAS, AN ITEM BEARING THE OEKO-TEX®
LEATHER STANDARD LABEL IS A BETTER AND SAFER CHOICE. LEATHER THAT MEETS THIS
STANDARD HAS BEEN SCIENTIFICALLY TESTED FOR HARMFUL SUBSTANCES.

 * The certified article is harmless to human health
 * Every leather, thread and button has been tested against a list of over 1,000
   harmful substances
 * The more intensive the skin contact is, the stricter are the human ecology
   requirements  for the OEKO-TEX® LEATHER STANDARD laboratory tests 
 * We use globally standardised test criteria
 * The certification complies with international requirements and regulations
 * We review our limit values for harmful substances at least once a year

THESE ARE THE BENEFITS

 * Compliance with global regulations, including the annexes XVII and XIV of the
   REACH directive, and the ECHA-SVHC candidate list.
 * Leather material and leather products including footwear can be tested and
   certified at any stage of processing.
 * Network of over 21,000 certified companies around the world for easier
   sourcing of chemicals, materials and business partners along the textile
   chain.
 * Thanks to our modular system, the costs for certification are distributed
   across the production steps. The testing costs for the finished product are
   waived if all the components have already been successfully tested according
   to LEATHER STANDARD.
 * Optional testing for special articles, e.g. suitcases, sofas, helmets,
   saddles etc.

 3. Definition & analytics: Definition of test and measurement criteria,
    development of an individual measurement plan, testing of the material
    sample 
 4. On-site visit: Inspection and evaluation of your company
 5. Report: Delivery of a detailed test report
 6. Certificate: Issue of certificate for one year
