BRAZILIAN APITONG AKA KERUING FOR TRUCK TRAILER DECKING

Apitong is the most popular exotic hardwood species that you can find in South
East Asia. It is widely known as Keruing, the high-density decking wood with
less moisture content. This finest quality hardwood available at ABS Wood varies
from light to dark red-brown or brown to dark brown, sometimes with a purple
tint. It is very durable and resistant to both fungi and termites. Apitong is
known for its durability, affordability, and sustainability. It is used for
flooring, pallets, veneer and plywood, truck floors, boardwalks, a framework for
boats, and more. Like all lumber supplied by y ABS Wood, Apitong Keruing wood
decking is the best choice for trailer decking with grain straight or shallowly
interlocked and moderately coarse texture.

decking option. It is 20% harder than red oak


APITONG TRUCK DECKING CHARACTERISTICS

Apitong hard wood decking is a high-density wood, with a low moisture content.
Since the timber is heavy and very hard, the shrinkage is slight. Apitong has no
distinctive odor. The heartwood of Apitong hard wood decking is very durable and
resistant to both fungi and termites. This durability makes Apitong wood decking
the best choice for trailer decking.


APITONG TRUCK DECKING COLOR

Heartwood varies from light to dark red brown or brown to dark brown, sometimes
with a purple tint; usually well defined from the gray or buff sapwood. Texture
moderately coarse; grain straight or shallowly interlocked; luster low; strong
resinous odor when freshly cut, without
taste.
