The 7th District is responsible for Coast Guard activities throughout a 1.7
million square mile area including Puerto Rico, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina
and 34 foreign nations and territories.

The 8th District is responsible for Coast Guard activities in 26 states. A
majority of our activity is from our coastline states including Texas,
Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the panhandle of Florida.

The 9th District is responsible for Coast Guard activities throughout the five
Great Lakes, the Saint Lawrence Seaway and parts of the surrounding states
including 6,700 miles of shoreline and 1,500 miles of the international border
with Canada.
