Ending women's poverty globally would put an end to a couple of women's
limitations, which could be: 1. Various forms of insecurities 2. Vulnerability
to all forms of GBV 3. Illiteracy 4. Lack of confidence 5. Idleness and
subjectivity to social vices and caprices. And many more. Thanks for the
opportunity UN Women UK United Nations Delloite Consulting Let the world 🌎

If I had to sum it up in one word … freedom! Freedom to leave / stay Freedom to
save / invest Freedom to be valued and appreciated Freedom to make decisions for
us based on what’s best for us Freedom to dress / look how we want when we want
Freedom to share our opinions when we see fit Freedom to have an opinion Freedom
to healthcare Freedom for friend groups and social activities Freedom to eat
what we want and when Freedom to live where we want and with whom Freedom to
education and training Freedom to a career, job and earnings that are equal to
what a man would earn for the same role Freedom to dance, create, enjoy and live
enthusiastically and wholly Freedom to our bodies, to say who can touch them
when/where/how and to say no Freedom to say no - for any reason at any time
Freedom to have children or not Freedom to marry whom we choose Freedom to not
marry or be in any relationship Freedom to have freedom across many ways!
Excited for the impact we will make together!

I would also like to add that women don't start investing early enough. Making
investing more accessible for women and developing financial literacy provides
the necessary tools and resources for women to start investing early and thrive
in the financial world. This is critical. I love what Sallie Krawcheck the
co-founder and CEO of women's investing platform Ellevest, has achieved.

Equal pay is incredibly important in respect of ending women’s poverty. In 2024,
there is just no justification for employers to pay women less than men for
equal work. We know how to assess like work, work rated as equivalent, and work
of equal value; if there is no genuine material factor to differentiate the
work, there is no excuse for anything less than equality of terms. This is such
a basic principle, yet too often employers still get it wrong.

The Motherhood Penalty is the crux of the gender pay gap globally (as Claudia
Goldin's 2023 Nobel Prize confirmed!). Women re-enter the workforce in lower
paying fields, with minimal career progression thereafter. The Economist just
released an amazing piece exposing this- this graph tells a sad story 👇 At
ivee.jobs we are solving this problem- follow us to find out more.

Financial empowerment with learning how to build income , manage money, and grow
wealth is needed for all women. Education both at home and at school about some
basic financial principles and access to mentors who can help women in all
stages of their career is what I’m passionate about building Freedom Sun:

Accessibility and representation in positions of leadership is the key to an
inclusive society The world bank reports that, even in high income countries
women account for just over 30% of parliamentarians. In lower middle-income
countries 89% of parliament seats are occupied by men.

❤️Here are some key takeouts and insights shared by countries/ NGOs… during
my Day 1 at the #csw68 as a UNWomen Wwk Delegate. ✅Today’s sessions “United
Nations set the tone highlighting that “policies have consequences”, and
whilst “gender equality” benefits all for “women to make money”, we first
need to “invest in them.” - 383 million women and girls live in poverty and
unsafe conditions around the world. - 2 billion people in the world don’t
have access to clean water. - the higher women are in seniority, the higher
is the pay gap with men. - In Mexico city, 1 in 4 household experience water
shortage on a weekly basis. - In India, the micro banking industry is worth
60billion dollars. - This year saw a record number of civil participants at
the #csw68 - Last week the first meeting of its kind happened between 1800
policy makers to discuss public finances, government taxes… to support the
SDGs. As they are our best hope to reach our 2030 goals. Right now, we would
need to work 26 x faster just to reach SDG1. - “For women in Uganda to access
gender equality, access to education/ healthcare isn’t enough. International
programmes to support Uganda is crucial. “ - “Women living in countries in
conflict and post conflict should be provided support to access employment
and safety. Without peace and security, they won’t be able to thrive. “ And
here is my favourite quote from today: “When women prosper, the invest in
their children, they break century old policies. Women’s courage is
   everyone’s capital.” #unitednations #undelegateuk #inclusivepolicies #equity

Economic studies have shown that time and again, encouraging and empowering
women to participate in entrepreneurial endeavors increases a nation's
economic status and developmental capabilities. With a focus on women's
poverty goals on a global scale it is vital to take entrepreneurship into
consideration as a means of empowerment and emancipation.

What a mind blowing Day1 of the #csw68! Perfectly summed up by #unwomenuk
below. My one takeaway from today is that whilst there is focus and push on
getting women into STEM and women into leadership positions - like all
problem statements, the answer lies at the root cause. The analysis shows
that childhood conditions and poverty from all sorts of violence are the
biggest reasons for lack of female pipeline - so we must address these and
start there. Please do DM your questions / curiosities and will do my best 💛

On this World Day of Eradication of Poverty, we’re reminded of a powerful
truth: One woman can uplift an entire community. When women thrive, they
invest in their business, social impact, and the health of those around them
   — creating a ripple effect that benefits everyone. They are the rising tide
that lifts all boats, a force multiplier in the fight to end poverty. Your
support can fuel the power of women entrepreneurs and help end poverty for
   good. #ProjectFury #PoweringEntrepreneurs #EndingPoverty

In the shadow of economic inequality: Poverty leads to family worries and
tensions, violence and disruption in social groups. Around 130 million
(slightly more than one in three) students between the ages of 13 and 15 are
victims of violence in everyday life. Approximately 15% of young people feel
lonely. Worldwide, one in four (176 million) children under the age of 5 live
with a mother who has been the victim of numerous cases of intimate partner
violence. Poverty is present in the desperation of people looking for
meaningful employment and in the dreams of women who lack the means to
achieve financial independence. In other countries, children have no
childhood and adults struggle to earn enough to live on. 160 million girls
and boys between the ages of 5 and 17 work in conditions that violate their
rights. Let's work together to create a better future for everyone. You can

Poverty increases vulnerability to Violence Against Women and Girls. Economic
stress can lead to power imbalances and exploitation. By addressing poverty,
we can help prevent VAWG. Empowering women economically can be a powerful
   tool against VAWG. #16Days #PreventionFirst #sibelfast16days2024

On this #InternationalDayfortheEradicationofPoverty, let’s remember that the
numbers we work hard to tabulate are not mere numbers; they represent people—
women, men, and children who go to bed hungry, often live in inadequate and
insecure dwellings, and struggle to access basic necessities for themselves
and their families. Women and girls married too young, burdened too early
with caring responsibilities, and deprived of education and access to a
livelihood are overly represented among the poor. The solution is absurdly
transparent: poverty reduction strategies must focus on women who work too
hard for too little pay and take on the social responsibility of caring for
children but generally receive little to no support. The reality is stark:
globally, children and their primary caregivers (mostly women) make up the
majority of those living in poverty. And if we stay on our current path, by
2030, an estimated 8% of the world’s female population—342.4 million women
and girls—will still live on less than $2.15 a day. So, why aren’t we doing
more to shine a light on the gender dimensions of poverty and tackle it
   head-on?
