Make the effort to track how much time you actually spend starring at that
glorious blue light. To avoid maintaining your ignorance is bliss mentality.
And, since you’re in denial, why would you want to limit your usage? You’re
probably thinking that there’s no way that you’re getting too much screen time.
And, that’s totally possible by implementing the following 10 strategies.
Suffice to say, you need to reduce your screen time. And, we’re working too much
since we’re always available. The reasons? We’re comparing ourselves to others
on social media. It can even lead to anxiety, stress, and depression. More
troubling? Too much screen time can cause vision problems, impact our sleep, and
encourage a more sedentary lifestyle. Obviously, that’s going to disrupt our
productivity. However, because of an increase in WFH and socially distancing due
to COVID-19, I would suspect that these figures are much higher. Additionally,
we pick up our phones 58 times per day. Speaking of phones, RescueTime reports
that on average, we spend 3 hours and 15 minutes on our phones. Honestly, that
shouldn’t be shocking since we’re glued to our computers, TVs, and phones. If
you think that I’m being hyperbolic here, just know that back in 2016, it was
found that we devote more than 10 hours a day on screen time. And, obviously,
that’s not ideal for our mental and physical health.

Even more worrisome, some believe that we’re straight-up addicted to technology.
On the other, it can be distracting and gets in the way of creative thinking.
And, it’s certainly enhanced how we communicate and collaborate with others.
There’s also an endless amount of information at our fingertips. It’s helped
automate repetitive tasks and pinpoint when we’re most productive. While there
are some sweeping generalizations in the letter, I always appreciate something
that forces me to think about my priorities.On the one hand technology has
helped us become way more productive. And, waiting in line for the PS3 doesn't
necessarily mean that you don't contribute to society, go to church or volunteer
your time. Not every "20-something" person lined up. However, the folks that
lined-up for a PS3 are a very, very small percentage of the population. Write
letters to elected officials and newspapers. Do something in reality, not
virtual reality. Next time, "camp out" for something meaningful.

My generation is being ignored because we don't seem to care. Unless we start
shaping our world now, we will spend our adult lives fixing "hand-me-down"
problems. We seem more concerned about our iPods and video games than the
future. We are camping out in the cold and the rain for a video game console. We
have huge environmental issues that will affect the generation that is now
coming of age.Īre my fellow teens and 20-somethings camping out in protest of
these issues? Are we donating time to the betterment of mankind? We live in a
country where millions are without health care.

We live in a time when 1 percent of our population does 100 percent of the
fighting and dying overseas. When I saw the people at Target who had camped out
for days to get the new PlayStation 3, I thought, "Pathetic." When I saw on CNN
that thousands of people across the country were camping out for a PS3, I
thought, "Disgusting."

couldn't stop laughing. I was in line at a Chick-Fa-Lay and the guy in front of
me's phone went off. I ran into a guy a few weeks ago that had an Austin

One key point: Connect360 will not work if your Xbox is connected directly to
your Mac as I've described above. It will also allow you to share video files,
but these must be WMV+WMA files, so as a Mac user that's not likely to be that
helpful. It installs as a Preference Pane, and allows you to share your iTunes
Library and your iPhoto Library with the 360.

Fortunately, Connect360 ($20) from nullriver does just this. I.) The first
problem requires getting the Xbox to recognize the Mac as a source computer for
files. I'm really hoping that these programs continue to mature, as Xbox Live
Friends in particular looks very interesting, though it does still need a lot of
work. I don't know if it's specific to my machine, or something more general.
Unfortunately, all of these applications are relatively unstable, and seem to
lose connection with relatively often on my machine. Xbox Live Friends is
perhaps the most Mac-like of these programs, looking sort of like the Buddy List
in iChat. Both Xbox Live Friends and Friendz purport to offer similar
functionality to Mac Live. Best of all, it can give you Growl notifications when
your Friends come online, so you can get online and beat them. Mac Live lets you
view your Friends and send them text messages. There are a number of Mac
applications that interact with to allow you to keep track of your Live Friends.
Of course this won't work on iTunes-purchased protected files, so this is all
the more reason to welcome the EMI announcement. Download and install this
Optional iPod Support, and your unprotected AACs will play just fine. Out of the
box, the Xbox 360 can only recognize MP3s and WMVs, but a quick trip to the
downloads section of the Xbox Live Marketplace will yield a free download that
enables AAC support. If you plug an iPod directly into the Xbox's USB port it
will recognize it, and allow you to browse your iPod's library and even see your
playlists! This music can be songs you've ripped to the Xbox's hard drive, songs

When a web page wants you to log in, Dashlane automatically fills in your
username and password and submits them, so you’re instantly authenticated
without any interaction at all. If you prefer, you can disable the auto-login
feature on a site-by-site basis, so you get a chance to review the page and hit
submit yourself. Most of the time, though, the software is almost invisible. The
main interface has a clean, clear layout from which you can review your stored
items, check the strength of your passwords and configure sharing and emergency
access. A click takes you to the installation page for the appropriate browser
extension. When you install the desktop app, it immediately picks up any
passwords saved in your web browser and lets you choose which ones to import.

fill the “Gradient” layer as in the example below. Double-click the gradient
that is situated first from the left on the third row and change the Gradient
Type to Radial. Choose View > Show Gradients to open the Gradients Palette. Now,
create a new layer and name it “Gradient”. Finally, change the “Noise” layer’s
Blending to Soft Light and reduce the Opacity to 30%. Next, choose the Blur
group in the Effects Browser and double click the Median thumbnail. Choose the
Stylize group in the Effects Browser and double-click the Noise thumbnail. Open
the Effects Browser by choosing View > Show Effects. Then, create a new layer
and name it “Noise”.

Next, select the Paint Bucket Tool (N) and fill the “Background Layer” with
beige color (color code – #e5b669). The image size used in this tutorial is
900×600 pixels. Open Pixelmator and create a new document. The Gradient Tool,
Marquee Tools, Effects and other features of Pixelmator are used in this
