The United Nations Human Rights Office on Friday said it will send a
fact-finding mission to Bangladesh and investigate alleged human rights
violations during recent deadly violence in the country.
The anti government protests began as a student-led movement against public
sector job quotas and soon escalated into the deadliest violence since the
country's independence in 1971.

The chaos left more than 1,000 people dead and prompted Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina to resign and flee.
The interim government led by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Muhammad Yunus replaced
Hasina's administration, helping curb the violence. "The office will deploy a
fact-finding team to Bangladesh in the coming weeks, with a view to reporting on
violations and abuses perpetrated during the protests, analysing root causes,
and making recommendations to advance justice and accountability and for
longer-term reforms," Ravina Shamdasani, spokesperson for the UN Human Rights
Office, said in a statement.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk welcomed Bangladesh's recent
accession to the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from
Enforced Disappearance, and praised the establishment of a national commission
to investigate cases of enforced disappearances, a longstanding issue in
Bangladesh.
"We stand ready to support the Commission in its work, which should be in close
consultation with victims and their families," Shamdasani said.

after suicideIn the death case of Tunisha Sharma, CCTV footage has emerged where
her ex-boyfriend and co-star Sheezan Khan along with two other people can be
seen carrying Tunisha to the hospital. Naigaon hospital doctor Surendra Pal
while talking to a news channel said, “Those who brought her from the sets said
they were shooting when she locked herself in a room. People knocked on the
door, but she did not open it. They had to break open the door to enter. They
found her hanging, after which they took her down and brought her here.” Sheezan
was arrested for abetment to suicide and is in the police custody. On the other

UP: Man rapes daughter-in-law, kills elder son when challengedA 56-year-old man
allegedly shot dead his elder son in Moradabad district on Saturday after the
latter accused him of sexually assaulting his wife. An FIR has been registered
against the man and he has been charged with rape and murder. The victim's wife,
who was married a year ago, alleged that she was sexually assaulted by her
father-in-law when she was alone at home on November 25. Her husband and other
relatives went to attend a wedding function in another city. According to her,
she had taken it up with her deceased husband and mother-in-law on Saturday
morning, who confronted the accused and threatened to lodge a police
