JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Vice President of Quality, NHPCO is currently seeking a Manager of Health Equity and Diversity to join our mission-driven team. In this role, you will lead and advance NHPCO’s health equity strategies related to education, policy, regulatory and legislative work. Responsibilities may include preparing comment letters, developing policy recommendations, conducting analysis, developing policy alerts, briefs, presentations, and other resources to meet the needs of our members and the hospice and palliative care community. The ideal candidate is passionate about health equity and dedicated to increasing access to quality care for diverse populations. * Researches, prepares, and maintains materials on health equity and the intersection with hospice and palliative care. * Prepares outreach and educational materials, policy briefs, discussion documents, memos, testimony, and talking points in support of NHPCO’s position on expanding access to hospice and palliative care. * Develops NHPCO products including policy alerts, tool kits, summaries, and briefs for NHPCO members. * Assists NHPCO members with DEI related questions and issues while providing research and support for addressing diversity, equity and access and inclusion related issues in the hospice and palliative care community. * Consults with NHPCO leadership and the Diversity Advisory Council as necessary * Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with hospice and palliative care professionals to translate their needs into NHPCO communications, tools, and resources, including the NHPCO Diversity Advisory Council (DAC). * Supports NHPCO internal initiatives by collaborating with other teams and conducting research for a variety of projects, meetings, and programs, including CaringInfo and Quality Connections. * Manages and participates in various committees, councils, and/or working groups. * Serves as the NHPCO liaison for DEI educational opportunities and presentations, to include presenting on DAC initiatives at NHPCO events and coordinating DEI events with the education team for on-going webinars and conferences. * Provides support for grant-funded projects, including preparing standard forms such as agreements and licensing contracts, email correspondence, etc. * Serves as primary manager and consultant for work related to the organization's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. * Work across teams to provide educational resources, analyze systems, and develop and implement strategies that create organizational change. * Facilitates and supports collaboration with other associations and stakeholders on DEI-related initiatives and projects. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: * Bachelor’s Degree; Master of Public Health, Public Administration, Health Services Administration, Public Policy, or related field preferred. * A minimum of four to five years of experience working on diversity equity and inclusion initiatives, preferably in a healthcare related field. * Experience in data collection is a plus. * Ability to actively seek and engage with diverse perspectives, respectfully listen to ideas, opinions and concerns of others while working cooperatively with others on interdependent goals. * Ability to present oneself in a professional and efficient manner to the public, board members, NHPCO members, current and potential donors, supporters, and employees. * Fosters a collaborative environment that drives work in the same direction of NHPCO’s mission, vision, and values. * Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, meet deadlines, and function as part of a team * Must have effective written and verbal communication skills, to include public speaking. * Ability to utilize analytical skills and a broad understanding of the organization to effectively interpret and anticipate relevant business requirements. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This position is classified as a full-time, exempt salaried position with a starting base salary at $76,800 - $86,800 annually (commensurate with related experience) plus an opportunity to earn annual merit increases based on annual performance goals, as well as the potential (but not guaranteed) performance bonuses. This role is eligible to work a hybrid telework arrangement (1-2 days/week onsite) in the Washington, DC area.
