THE ANORD MARDIX BIG CYCLE

Anord Mardix are thrilled to debut the very first Big Cycle event!

We're inviting 150 cyclists to take part in one of two possible cycling routes,
set within the idyllic South Lakes countryside. Either route will have you
appreciating the Cumbrian countryside like never before - and it's all for a
fantastic cause.

We want to raise over £10,000 for the North West Air Ambulance charity, a
charity that works across Cumbria to keep tourists and locals alike safe whilst
they're out enjoying the countryside and local towns.


 


ABOUT THE ANORD MARDIX BIG CYCLE EVENT

The Anord Mardix 2022 Big Cycle will take place on Thursday 7th July at The
Silverholme Manor on the Graythwaite Estate in Windermere. There are two
distances available, 40 miles and 70 miles, catering for intermediate and
advanced levels of cycling ability and experience. Both routes wind their way
through the beautiful roads of the Windermere with a few challenging hill climbs
thrown in for good measure.


WHY THE NORTH WEST AIR AMBULANCE CHARITY?

From accidental injuries to severe medical emergencies, the North West Air
Ambulance crew delivers specialist and enhanced pre-hospital care to the most
critically ill and injured patients, transporting them to the most appropriate
hospital to achieve the best possible outcome.

The medical interventions that the charity provides at the scene of an incident
include: Rapid Sequence Induction (RSI), blood transfusions, vital pain
medications, and many other lifesaving interventions. The charity receives no
government or NHS funding and they must raise over £9.5 million each year to
stay operational. Without fundraising events like this, or donations from the
general public, the helicopters and their crew would never get off the ground. 

Anord Mardix started off as a small, family-run business with sites based in
Kendal, slowly growing to be big enough to employ brothers, sisters, spouses,
cousins, aunties and uncles all under the same roof. As we've grown over the
decades, we've expanded throughout Kendal and the rest of the North West to
include manufacturing and production facilities across Kendal, Preston and
Blackburn.

With our growing employee base, we have strong ties to the areas and communities
within Cumbria and Lancashire. So for us, this isn't only about doing a good
deed, this is also about keeping our employees, and their families and friends,
safe.

The fundraising community helps to keep the North West Air Ambulance's
helicopters fuelled, their crew equipped, and ready to save lives.

 



 


ENTRY FEE

The standard entry fee is £75, which includes:

 1. Rider pack comprising jersey and a water bottle

 2. Hot breakfast upon arrival including tea/coffee and a choice of breakfast
    roll
 3. Refreshments at Pit Stops on route
 4. Refreshments and evening entertainment on completing the ride.

All proceeds raised from your entry fees will be donated to our UK charity
partner, The North West Air Ambulance.

We're aware that many of you will be travelling from outside of the South Lakes
area and we're keen to make sure you're refreshed for the ride, as well as
taking some time to relax post-event and soak up the afternoon entertainment.
We're working with The Swan Hotel, situated less than 10 minutes from
Silverholme Manor, and have reserved a select number of rooms at an exclusive
rate of £99* p/night, including breakfast, so that you can enjoy everything the
Big Cycle event has to offer.

*You can book your room directly with the hotel referencing “ Graythwaite
Estate”  on billing, where the discount will be applied.
