Dan Lucian Paul was born in Romania. He and his family immigrated to the United
States in 1980 at the age of 13. Settling in Cleveland, Ohio, they attended and
were active members in the Cleveland Romanian Baptist Church. Dan received his
college education at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia and graduated in
1990. Upon his return to Cleveland, he continued to serve at the CRBC working in
youth ministry, holding Bible studies, and especially mentoring the young men in
the church. In June 1991, Dan married Emilia Motiu and God blessed them with two
children, Isaac Nathaniel in 1994 and Julia Alexandra in 1996. In 1994, God
called Dan and his friend, Cristian Chirla, back to Romania to minister to the
neediest of people- both physically and spiritually. Countryside Missions was
born and, today, is still sending young people with the Gospel and physical
assistance to the needy and hopeless in Romania. Dan was called to fulltime
ministry, and in April 2002, was ordained as Associate Pastor and then Senior
Pastor shortly thereafter. He has served as Senior Pastor at CRBC for over 20
years. He has also served as President of the Romanian Baptist Association of
U.S.A. and Canada for a term and serves as Pastoral Commission Coordinator for
many years. Dan has a heart for people, and has a passion for helping and
counselling, but above all, bringing the hope of Jesus Christ and the Gospel to
those who are suffering physically, emotionally, and spiritually. “I will
instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my
loving eye on you” Psalm 32:8

SENIOR PASTOR

Ioan Veres is a Ph.D. candidate at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in
Kansas City, Missouri. Ioan was educated in pastoral theology at “Emanuel”
University in Oradea, Romania. He also obtained a Master of Arts in Religious
Studies from “Aarhus” University, Denmark. This degree covered how Christianity,
Judaism, and Islam interacted with each other in their formative periods.
Currently, Ioan is pursuing doctoral studies in Bioethics with a particular
focus on the intersections of theology and ethics with the biosciences and
healthcare.

COUNTRYSIDE MINISTRY

Countryside Ministries started in 1994 in the midst of the Cleveland Romanian
Baptist Church and is more than a missionary organization, it's a philosophy of
life. We are interested in more than a partner in missionary projects in
modeling a spiritual growth of participants, in discipleship, mentoring and
testing. Our vision goes beyond spreading the Gospel, even though this is one of
our main values. We are interested in helping participants to make a missionary
life style, regardless of culture, age or profession.
