> It is a great pleasure to open the world’s leading trade fair for onshore and
> offshore wind energy here in Hamburg. The roll-out of wind energy and the
> expansion of renewable energy in general has become more urgently needed and
> more important than ever. An accelerated energy transition is the key to a
> secure and sustainable energy supply, not only in Germany, but right across
> Europe. We need to put all our efforts into this and significantly step up the
> pace of the expansion of renewables. The reform of the Renewable Energy
> Sources Act we adopted before the summer break is a decisive step forward and
> triples the pace of the roll-out of renewables – on water, on land and on
> rooftops. An important lever for this is the legislative principle in place
> since 29 July 2022 that renewables are in the public interest and serve public
> security. This will clearly speed up the planning and approval procedures.
