The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) announced
Thursday (Dec. 14) it has included best-price provisions in additional Project
NextGen pharmaceutical contracts -- a move applauded by Senate health committee
Chair Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and drug pricing advocates, but who say similar
provisions should also be included in drug contracts involving research funded
by the National Institute of Health.


HHS Unveils New Model To Increase Access To Doulas, Birth Centers

The Biden administration says up to 15 states will able to take advantage of
CMS’ new Transforming Maternal Health (TMaH) Model, a 10-year program where
states receive up to $17 million to increase Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries’
access to midwives, birth centers and doulas to improve care and reduce maternal
mortality.


28 Providers, Payers Pledge To Responsibly Use Health Care AI

Twenty-eight health care providers and payers on Thursday (Dec. 14) pledged to
CMS that they would safely and equitably use artificial intelligence/machine
learning technologies in health care.
