He was born on August 11th, 2011, and was the youngest of three sons of Karin Ezbiansky Pavese and Marc Pavese. He died June 29th, 2016, just before his 5th birthday, from complications related to his leukemia diagnosis. Donate ABOUT ZACHARY Zachary had many wonderful qualities not least being his kindness and empathy for others, especially other children in need of help. It would not be uncommon for Zachary to ask “Where is their mommy?” when observing a child crying or looking sad. Our fund is intended to honor Zachary by finding ways to help children succeed and find happiness in a world that can often be harsh and difficult to navigate for those without strong support systems. Funds collected will be donated to organizations that support children in need. We hope to bring some “kindness” to them as Zachary wanted. Although Zachary’s life was short, he did experience life. He saw the Hudson Valley and Upstate NY, traveled to the west coast, and made his first trip to Europe visiting Venice, Rome, and Pompeii. He loved Star Wars and spent many hours playing related games with his brothers. He loved listening to the Star Wars soundtrack, Vivaldi, and Hamilton. He saw the NYC Ballet and was hospitalized with his initial leukemia diagnosis just missing his first Broadway show. He also had hoped to see Hamilton after his induction phase of cancer treatment concluded. Zachary’s traits shined through from an early age. He was always extremely sensitive, kind, empathetic, and shy, but full of life and charisma around his family and close friends. He had an amazing smile that just warmed your heart. He was the happiest when with his twin brothers, and the three were often mistaken for triplets. When asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, he would reply a “first grader” (at the time, this was the grade his twin brothers were in). He also loved spending time at his home in Saratoga Springs, NY and cherished his “Saratoga friends” with whom he would swim, golf, and play hide out games. Zach was a master builder utilizing almost anything you put in front of him – legos, zoobs, bristle blocks, wooden blocks, plus plus. We hope he will forever live in our hearts and in the memories of all who knew him.
