Extensions have been growing steadily for the last few years with a number of
headline startup acquisitions & investment in the space. This has created a
growing need for extensions developers. VCs are also looking to extensions more
than they ever have in the past!


BROWSER EXTENSION ACADEMY 🎓

The browser extension academy is a new video course that will take you through
everything you need to know about browser extensions. We will cover the
fundamentals of building browser extensions starting with how to configure the
manifest, before moving onto messaging – the glue the connects your extension
together.

The course will also include how to work with service workers, a deep dive into
the different types of extensions you can create including content scripts, page
overrides & popups.

We will also look at the plugins & tools which make the devleopment process
smoother, extension focused database integration & user authorisation. The
course will also include a special section on mobile support with iOS Safari!
Finally, we will jump into developing real example extensions. 🚀

I love that this course shows you how the functionality of an app similar to IG
works. It works great for me because I'm working on a project that has similar

What is the format of the course?

The course will be mostly video content (over 7 hours), with some extra written
examples and resources included.

What experience do I need before I taking this course?

This course is open to anyone although it will help to have some experience with
HTML & JavaScript.

Will I get one on one support calls?

Whilst there will not be direct 1 on 1 support, there will be video updates for
all students, covering the most popular questions asked. There will also be
limited slots available for support calls.

Will there be a community?

This is undecided at the moment & is a question that I will be asking to gauge
interest. As I want to make sure any community will actually be valuable.

Will this only cover Chrome Extensions?

No, the course will start with chrome extensions but I also cover Safari
extensions including iOS & include a section on Firefox.
