When you return an item, your refund amount and refund method may vary. Check the payment method refunded and the status of your refund in Your Orders. Note: All information on this page only relates to items bought from or Fulfilled by Amazon. Don't return items to Amazon that were bought on Amazon Marketplace and shipped to you by the seller. Where is my refund? Check the status of your refund in Your Orders US_en - How Long Do Refunds Take - DESKTOP How Long Do Refunds Take? When returning an item, you have the option to choose your preferred refund method in the Online Returns Center. After the carrier receives your item, it can take up to two weeks for us to receive and process your return. We typically process returns within 3-5 business days after the carrier delivers the item to our Returns Center. When we complete processing your return, we issue a refund to the selected payment method. Learn how to Track Your Return. Instant Refunds If you want to use your refund without waiting for us to process your return, you can select the Instant Refund option, if available. Instant refunds are either refunded to your credit card or issued as an Amazon.com Gift Card balance. You'll still need to return your items within 30 days. Refund Times Once we issue your refund, it takes additional time for your financial institution to make funds available in your account. Refer to following table for more details. You can use the card toward future purchases. For orders that used the Amazon Currency Converter, we issue the refund in your local currency using the same rate as the original order. Gift Returns The type of refund or credit a gift recipient receives depends on how the giver purchased the gift and how the recipient returns the gift. For more information, go to Return a Gift. Amazon may determine that a gift recipient is eligible for a refund without requiring a return. If a gift return is eligible for a refund without returning the item, the gift recipient receives a notification in the Returns Center or via Customer Service. To check the return window for an item you've ordered, go to Your Orders and select Return or Replace Items. Note: For customers in CT, MD, NV, PA, VA, WV, and WI, tax on restocking fees may apply to return items shipped and sold by Amazon.com. Some products have additional conditions that may apply. Replace a Damaged, Defective or Broken Item If you received a damaged, defective, or incorrect item sold by Amazon, you can request a replacement for eligible items through Your Orders. To replace an item: Go to Your Orders and select Return or replace items beside the item you want to replace (if your order is from a Marketplace seller, you will need to select "Return items" and input a return reason on the next screen. You'll know it's a Marketplace order because the order details will show it was sold and fulfilled by a seller rather than Amazon). Select the item that you want to replace and select a reason from the Reason for return menu. If your item is ineligible for replacement, you will be asked to return it. If you're replacing an item: A replacement order, with the same shipping speed that was used on your original item, will be created. Use the return label provided to you to send your original item back. You'll need to return the original item within 30 days to avoid being charged for both the original and replacement items. Returning items with personal data If you're returning a mobile phone, camera, or any other storage device, remember to remove any passwords and any personal data contained in it before returning it. Don't send personal accessories not originally included with the item when purchased, for example, cases or external memory cards purchased separately. Exchanges and Replacements A small number of eligible items can be exchanged or replaced through Your Orders if your exchange or replacement meets certain criteria, including stock availability. Did you receive a damaged, defective, or wrong item sold by Amazon and want to replace it with the same item? Is your order missing an item or part and you want a refund or replacement? Go to Your Orders Note: Items fulfilled by Amazon.com but sold by another seller can't be replaced, but can be returned. You can exchange an item through Your Orders if your return item wasn't purchased with a promotion (except for free shipping promotions), the return item isn't subject to a restocking fee, the return item was purchased with a credit or debit card, and the exchange item meets the other eligibility criteria listed below. Note: We can't process exchanges for gift returns and exchange items cannot be sent as gifts. Learn more about exchanges Learn more about replacements Exchanges for a Different Size or Color Exchanges are available for apparel, sports goods, shoes, baby products, jewelry, and watches that have a size or color variation. The exchange item must meet the following criteria: It's a different size or color than the return item. It's shipped and sold by Amazon. Exchanges for an Item in Your Cart The exchange item must meet the following criteria: It's added in a quantity of one to the cart. It's shipped and sold by Amazon. It's not an Add-on Item. It's not identical to the item being returned. It's not marked as a gift in your cart. To check the status of your refund: Go to Your Orders. Next to the relevant order, select View Return/Refund Status. Note: You can also check the status of your refund by going to Your Orders and selecting View order details next to the relevant order.
