Sunday, June 23, 2024: 11am to 5pm

Location:
IntraSpace at the Old Rainier Brewery
First floor in the brick building behind Lula Coffee shop.
3100 Airport Way S, Seattle, WA

 * Meet other Commodore and Amiga enthusiasts.

Plus/4, DTV, VIC-20, PET, and Amiga.
 * Come and present your own Commodore projects.
 * And of course, see exciting Seattle, Washington.

Admission – FREE! (Thanks to SDF.org!) ! If you want to exhibit, it’s free! If
you want to do a presentation, you are free to do so! However, donations are
gladly accepted.

Directions to our venue at the Old Rainier Brewery

From the north –

Go south on the I-5 Freeway. Take exit 164 in Seattle. Follow I-90E towards
Bellevue. Then follow the signs for I-5S/Tacoma/Portland. Then follow the signs
for Airport Way S.. Continue until you arrive at 3100 Airport Way S.

From the south –

Go north on the I-5 Freeway. Take exit 162 in Seattle. Turn right onto Airport
Way S. and continue until you arrive at 3100 Airport Way S.

Nearest Train Service – The SODO light rail station (Sound Transit) is at 500
South Lander Street in Seattle, and it is 0.6 miles away from our venue at the
Old Rainier Brewery.

Refreshments at PaCommEx – Even though attendees might be bringing in food and
drink into the show, there is a full-fledged coffee shop in the same parking lot
as the venue! It is Lula Coffee Co, its new, second location in Seattle. You can
see its varied menu here. Note: The website still needs to be updated to show
the 3100 Airport Way S location.

Saturday Night Dinner – A tradition from the days of the Commodore Vegas Expo,
we go out to a restaurant on Saturday night after PaCommEx. About a mile away to
the west, there is the Orient Express housed in antique railway cars. Known for
its Chinese and Thai dishes, Orient Express Restaurant & Bar is at 2963 4th Ave
S, Seattle, WA 98134. Also check their website for an article on the historical
nature of this establishment, which includes a train car from President Franklin
Roosevelt. See an article about the train car at Atlas Obscura.

EVENT DETAILS

We are proud to announce our next ZZAP! Live event in collaboration with South
West Amiga Group and Retro Computer Museum. The ZZAP! Live event will cover each
and every Commodore system including the Amiga family.

The event will be held on the 17th of August at The Holiday Inn, Kenilworth, CV8
1ED.

The event is split into 2 parts:

Main Event: The main event starts at 10am and finishes at 6.00pm. You will have
access to all that the event has to offer during this time:

 * Over 60 Commodore systems to play games on. Every Commodore system will be
represented from the Commodore PET up to the Amiga 4000.
 * A Fusion Zone where non-Commodore systems will be available to play: Sega
consoles, Playstation, Saturn, N64, DOS gaming, and more!
 * We have a dedicated Q/A room that will hold up to 160 attendees along with
the panel. We have some guests lined up including Rob Hubbard (music
in Sanxion, Delta), Andrew Braybrook / Steve Turner (Uridium, Paradroid,
Rainbow Islands, Fire and Ice), Jon Hare / Stoo Cambridge (Wizball, Sensible
Soccer, Cannon Fodder), Simon Butler / Paul Hughes  (Ocean Software titles),
Andy Davidon (Worms on the Amiga). We have asked many others and are waiting
   for confirmation before announcing.
 * There will be gaming competitions throughout the day.
 * We will have a room full of old original arcade machines (many of which are
from Archer Maclean’s collection) supplied by the Arcade Archive (The Retro
Collective) in Stroud. In addition, we will have LCD arcade games and pinball
   machines.
 * A fully licensed bar will be open throughout the day, and good value food
   will be available to purchase.

Evening Event: At around 7pm we will be starting the evening entertainment – “An
Evening with Jeff, Giles, and Dokk”.

 * The first part of the evening will be a sneak peek view of “Heart of Neon”,
the feature-length documentary about Jeff directed by Paul Docherty (Dokk).
 * Following the show will be a Q/A with Jeff Minter and Giles – hosted by Paul.
 * EXCLUSIVE : Jeff and Giles will perform a full-blown VLM show!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Raffle – The raffle has become a big thing at our events. This year we have
teamed up with Classic Arcade Games – our first prize is an amazing cocktail
cabinet. There will be one at the event for visitors to play – the winner of the
raffle will have a brand new arcade machine sent directly to them from Classic
Arcade Games after the event.

Badges and Event Magazine:
For this event, everyone will get a small token magazine on entry, along with a
blank name badge. You can then, if you so wish, write your name on the badge and
wear it, thus letting everyone know who you are – and you will know who others
are. I think this would be a great way for attendees to actually talk to people
who they know online and put a face to a name!

Ticket sales will not be refunded or transferred from 1 week before the event
and thereafter.

Children Under 3 are FREE – they do not need a ticket.

Tickets will not be sold on the door. All tickets at this time will need to be
pre-ordered.
