date. You will receive communications about two weeks before it opens, and again
on the date the course opens with specific instructions on how to log in. Please

HOW DO I ENROLL INTO THE EXECUTIVE TRACK?

First, simply sign up for the LXD course by using the form at the top of this
page. About a week into the course (when it opens) you'll have the opportunity
to choose the Executive track.


WHAT IF I AM UNABLE TO ATTEND THE LIVE SESSIONS?

It's all right! We completely understand you may have scheduling conflicts, and
that the times may not work for those in other time zones. We record the
sessions, and usually have them loaded into the course within 36 hours after the
live event. And you can still earn points by viewing them!

and can't catch up, when in fact that's not the case. The course will stay open
for at least 5 weeks after the completion date, and you have all that time to

you are interested in resuming the course at a later date, we run the course
quarterly; you can enroll for the next cohort at www.novoed.com/lxd. Please be

WHAT IS THE LAST DATE I CAN SUBMIT MY COMPLETED PROJECT?

If you need more time than the official 5 weeks of the course, we keep it open
for 30 days past the date the final module is opened. If you require more time

I’M GOING TO BE TRAVELING DURING THE COURSE. WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO TAKE IT?

Yes. We understand that many may have vacation plans or may be otherwise engaged
during the 5 weeks of the course. For this reason, we usually keep the course
open for a total of 10 weeks.


CAN I REGISTER AND COMPLETE ALONE OR SHOULD I TAKE THE COURSE WITH TEAMMATES?

Yes, you can take the course alone. You’ll build career-enhancing skills, meet a
global network of professionals, and can join affinity groups. Working in teams
is not only fun, but can be more productive. You have the option to set up a
private group where you can collaborate with other members of your organization
to design solutions to shared challenges.


HOW LONG DOES THE COURSE TAKE AND HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT ASSIGNMENTS?

LXD is designed to take 5-6 weeks, but we understand that for some, it's not
feasible to complete the course in that time. For this reason, we usually keep
the course open for a total of 10 weeks.


WHAT IF I NEED MORE TIME THAN 5 WEEKS TO COMPLETE THE COURSE?

That's OK! We will hold the course open for at least another 4 weeks after the
course officially closes.


WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LXD DESIGN TRACK, AND THE LXD EXECUTIVE
TRACK?

The LXD Design Track focuses on the LXD principles that guide developing and
supporting learning experience design. The outcome of the coursework is
applicable to a single initiative that is being created. Topics explored include
techniques to gain support and audience in creating a course, assessing
organizational readiness for design-driven learning, and practicing with tools
that aide in the planning and development. Participants who follow the design
track can be experienced instructional designers or people brand new to the
career or interested in a career change. The LXD Executive Track focuses on how
learning and development are utilized and strengthened within an organization.
The outcome of the coursework is applicable to an organization’s overall
deployment and adoption of learning and development tools, systems, culture,
goals, etc. This track explores topics that support analyzing organizational
readiness, planning for a robust learning ecosystem, and measuring and setting
long(er)-term goals for an organization as a whole. Participants who follow the
executive trac can be organizational stakeholders, executives, and decision
makers. everyone – regardless of which path you choose to follow – starts the
course in the same place. The Welcome and Part 1 sections open during the first
week. Following Part 1, all learners will have the opportunity to learn a little
more about each path and select which track they wish to follow. You do not need

AFTER THE COURSE BEGAN I ACCIDENTALLY SIGNED UP FOR THE EXECUTIVE TRACK. IT'S A
MISTAKE - I NEED TO STAY IN THE DESIGN TRACK. WHAT DO I DO?

If you've joined the LXD Executive track but reassessed your decision, you have
simply unlocked an additional section in the course. This just means that the
pages are visible to you, but there is no requirement to complete the work on
those pages, and nothing that is preventing you from completing the Design focus
track of this course. While you cannot hide these pages once they’ve been
unlocked, you can skip over them and complete the LXD Design Focus track.


WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY A BLUEPRINT?

A blueprint is a personalized, actionable plan for using learning experience
design to create meaningful impact at your organization. Think of it as a
roadmap and methodology that defines and frames your vision for learning within
your organization and describes how you will get there. The blueprinting process
starts with defining your organizational vision for learning and then prompts
you to reflect on and document the key elements that will support the successful
implementation of a learning experience design plan. These elements include your
big idea for LXD, organizational/functional/technological readiness, and your
LXD approach, scope, and plan.


WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO BLUEPRINT OPTIONS?

The activities in this course are designed to help you create your very own
blueprint. Depending on your role, there are two options: LXD Blueprint for
Design Leads, and LXD Blueprint for Business Leads. Both project plans use
similar methodologies but are applied somewhat differently. The project for
designers is an actionable plan for a course or learning experience. The project
for decision-makers is an actionable plan for a learning strategy.


I TOOK THE PREVIOUS VERSION OF LXD A FEW YEARS AGO. IS THIS DIFFERENT ENOUGH TO
TAKE AGAIN?

Yes. While some of the concepts may be familiar, the new LXD includes brand-new
activities that will help you assess your business’s organizational, functional,

– collaboration, social learning, active facilitation, practice and application,
project-based learning, and peer feedback – not only improve the training but
also create shifts in mindsets and behaviors.


I SIGNED UP FOR FOUNDATIONS OF LEARNING EXPERIENCE DESIGN. WHAT HAS CHANGED?

The course has been updated to include new activities that build valuable
business skills to articulate your vision for learning experiences and assess
organizational readiness. In the old version of the course, the culmination of
the project was a module design. In the new version, there are two options: a
course design plan or a learning strategy plan. What stays the same? A highly
interactive learning experience with a global cohort of learners and experts.
You will have the same opportunities for practical application, discussion and
