EVENT DETAILS

Working collaboratively to preserve Colorado’s rich and complex Black histories,
sharing them broadly, and integrating them into Colorado education. The Museum
of Boulder, in partnership with Adrian Miller, the Boulder County NAACP Chapter
and the Boulder Public Library’s Maria Rogers Oral History Program, will develop
activities to highlight the history of Black people in Colorado with our IMLS:
Museums for America grant.

Over three years (and beyond), the Museum will employ a community-centered
process and develop an exhibit and educational curricula to address the
underrepresentation of Black histories in Colorado.

The program will collect original oral histories and research, consolidate
research data and make it publicly available, and host a series of programs
about race.

This project will give Coloradans a more inclusive understanding of the state’s
history by illuminating the stories of Black Coloradans, help the local
community examine attitudes about and acknowledge the experience of Black people
in Colorado, and ultimately serve as a launching pad for community dialogue and
a basis for community action.

Complementary Visions brings together a collection of artworks that
explore color, harmony, and tension between contrasting perspectives.
This exhibition showcases the unique voices of Serge Goldberg and Jean
Pless, each offering their individual interpretation of the world. By
blending diverse styles and techniques, Complementary Visions invites
viewers to experience how seemingly opposing ideas can coexist and
complement one another, sparking new conversations and interpretations.
This exhibition celebrates the richness that emerges when individual
artistic visions weave together, creating a space for new perspectives
and deeper understanding.

EVENT DETAILS

Sage DeVault, better known by his stylized surname DEVAULT, is an American
electronic musician.

Devault’s journey as a young musician is one worth noting. After official redos
for artists such as Rihanna, 6LACK, 070 Shake, DJ Snake, and Sabrina Claudio
under his belt, Devault collaborated with the likes of Bipolar Sunshine, Matt
Maeson, and Porches on his Debut Electronic EP ‘Stay.’ Following his debut,
Devault went onto release a string of dark industrial tapes, most notably
‘Diamond’ featuring the anthemic ‘Heaven’s Gates’ with Izzy Camina. In 2022,
Devault released the forward thinking ‘I Will’ and broke out in the touring
scene in 2023, selling out his headline shows in LA and New York, along with
performing at Coachella, Electric Forest, and HARD Summer (to name a few).

2023 also was a year of collaboration for Devault, releasing ‘Revelations’ &
‘Take My Soul’ with ZHU and ‘Apart of Me’ with OTR.

Taking inspiration from the early new wave talent of Depeche Mode and the
notorious Daft Punk, Devault is bridging the gap between a nostalgic and
original sound.

2024 now calls for his ‘Sensation’ Headline Tour across the country and
accompanying project.

ensemble – the Main Street Philharmonic, current and past members of the world
famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, and members from the Jazz Orchestra at Dr
Phillips Center. Each musician was hand-selected by band leader, Corey Paul, to
perfectly represent the piece of the puzzle they fit into as a member of the
Bebop Bounty Big Band and its incredible show, Cowboy Bebop LIVE!

EVENT DETAILS

The “Truth, Restoration, & Education Commission Report” Presentation from
Richard Williams

November 8 @ 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

These final reports present the comprehensive findings of the Truth,
Restoration, and Education Commission (TREC) of Colorado, which, over the last
two years, in collaboration with the People of the Sacred Land (PSL), has
diligently examined the widely untold history of Colorado in order to uncover
the causes of widespread land displacement and the genocide of Native peoples in
the state. The TREC’s primary focus is on restoring the status of Tribal Nations
in modern-day Colorado, and establishing an environment where Native communities
in the state can grow and succeed. In the wake of irreparable harms, this work
is dedicated to the restoration of Indigeneity, relationality, and wellness for
the next seven generations.

EVENT DETAILS

Dogs In A Pile, an eclectic quintet, merges funk, jazz, and
rock and roll with psychedelia, the band presents a completely original vibe
built on kaleidoscopic soundscapes eerily reminiscent of the days of
yesteryear. The Dogs employ a unified approach to performance and songwriting,
crafting aural mosaics through adept instrumentation and humble precocity. As
avid storytellers, they draw inspiration from personal experiences, balancing
life’s foibles with ever-present youthful sanguinity.
