WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

The Government of Canada has initiated a public engagement to collect ideas and
comments for the purpose of developing Canada's first National Adaptation
Strategy. This engagement initiative will run from May to July 15, 2022. During
this time, we will engage Canadians on specific, measurable and achievable
short-term actions to support long-term transformational goals and medium-term
objectives identified in the adaptation priority sections listed below and on
this discussion paper.

Please bookmark this page and join us regularly. We hope that you join the
discussions here, and then take it to your networks. If your organization or
government would like to provide a written submission on the National Adaptation
Strategy, please send it to adaptation@ec.gc.ca.

Climate change impacts all of us in Canada, so let’s start a national
conversation now.

A WHOLE-OF-CANADA APPROACH

People living in Canada are already witnessing and experiencing devastating
impacts of climate change. Canada’s climate is warming two times faster than the
global average, and three times faster in the North. Across the country, the
impacts of climate change are already affecting our communities, economy and
environment.

The National Adaptation Strategy will advance a shared vision for climate
resilience in Canada that will be based on high-level principles and focused
objectives. It will  provide a blueprint for whole of society action to help
communities and residents of Canada better adapt to and prepare for the impacts
of climate change.
