Child Action Northwest has been supporting children and young people for 130 years since the founding of Blackburn Orphanage in 1886. Many of the issues back then still exist today, and we are passionate about continuing to evolve and support the needs of children, young people, families and communities. When that happens, we will be there. Read More LATEST IMPACT STATS Our Emotional Health and Wellbeing work has supported 1500 young people aged 4-25 and 41 adults. Our contact centres across the North West have supported 107 families. 100% of our Young Carers felt that the service had made a positive contribution to their caring role. Our Emotional Health and Wellbeing service delivered 14,273 sessions to young people & adults. CANW is a dedicated workforce of 247 In 2022-23 our CANW services supported in excess of 17,000 children, young people and vulnerable adults. We found loving and safe foster families for 41 children. Our Appropriate Adults responded to 16,266 referrals made by custody suites. Our Emotional Health and Wellbeing work has supported 1500 young people aged 4-25 and 41 adults.
