Lucas Beirer

Lucas was Junior in High School. He was taking all advanced classes in school,
played football, worked part time as swim instructor at local pool, loved his
youth group in the church, loved animals, music, cooking and shopping. He had
great future ahead of him. However, his life was taken suddenly by taking street
bought drug called fentanyl. His death was not expected. Only after his death we
found out that Lucas was buying painkillers and unfortunately got his last one
laced with fentanyl.

UNDERAGE DRUG USE

Lucas lived in great community where parents care deeply about education and
welfare of their children. Unfortunately beginning from 2017 our community
started being infiltrated with powerful drug fentanyl, following national trend
in opioid crisis. Now, fentanyl started getting into school age kids! Most users
don’t know that they are buying fentanyl laced drug, as dealers often mix it to
keep the cost of drug low and margin high.

ABOUT US

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU?

Drugs do not discriminate; they do not care if you are rich or poor, famous or
unknown,  male or female,  a grownup or even a child. All individuals are
vulnerable to the ravages of drugs. Parents can do everything to raise their
children right, yet their children may still yield to curiosities and
temptations. Tragedies happen, yet lots of tragedies are accidental and
avoidable.  Parents should foremost learn and know how to correctly address drug
use, so that they are able to  discern the signs of substance abuse and act on
it early. Parents must teach their children the dangers of substance abuse and
addiction.

Children who learn about the risks of drugs from their parents are 50% less
likely to use drugs than children who do not get this information at home.
