Safeguarding children and young people in the 21st Century seems to become more and more complex. Effective safeguarding relies on clear and easily understandable systems and procedures. The school's culture forms the safe environment for children to develop and grow. In this course for Designated Safeguarding Leads, colleagues will learn why school culture is so important and how to build the solid structures that will support staff and students, even when tough challenges come along. The course includes many practical downloadable resources, including a pdf copy of the latest Safeguarding Handbook. This course will help you meet the statutory requirement for Designated Safeguarding Leads. "I came to a session in Birmingham back in 2019 (the day after the GE I think) and it was superb. Today [online] was just as good, if not better. The use of video mixed with live speaking was excellent and goes way beyond what other safeguarding courses provide. You've been there and done it, and your openness with your own story is inspirational." £197+vat per person Group Pricing (Online) * Small Group (5 – 10 people): £797 + VAT * Medium Group (11 – 20 people): £997 + VAT * Large Group (21 – 30 people): £1267+ VAT For group orders please use the Purchase Order form. That was the best Safeguarding training we have ever had, thank you so much. Feedback from staff has, so far, been overwhelmingly positive…I can't thank you enough." "I would like to extend my thanks to Andrew for his fantastic online training. It was filmed so well - almost as if he were here with us! We were kept engaged throughout and felt so well informed - a huge thank you. It was a real success, and we look forward to booking you again in the future - with the staff team saying it was the best safeguarding training they have ever had. DEVELOPING A CULTURE OF SUPERVISION (IN VENUE ONLY) I think supervision for DSLs has always been important, but more recently I think that colleagues are dealing with such a wide-range of issues and providing more early help themselves than they have ever done. The key government guidance document, Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023)(paragraphs 25-270) refers to supervision; and it is mandatory in the Early Years’ Framework (2024) (paragraph 3.27). Serious case reviews continue to cite a lack of supervision as one of the contributory factors. Over the few years, I’ve been supporting schools to develop supervision within their schools, or more widely, across their cluster, or multi-academy trust. I’ve now developed a day course to give headteachers and DSLs the essential tools to create a reflective supervision culture in their school. At the end of the course you will have a structure that will provide a great starting pointing to develop a culture of supervision in your school. The take-away toolkit will include everything you need to take action straight away. This course will help schools develop a culture of supervision in which Designated Safeguarding Leads will be able to: * deal with the frustrations and possible vicarious trauma of their role * have the strategies to deal with 'stuck' cases * reflect on their own emotional response * see things from a different point-of-view * support their safeguarding team * improve staff and student well-being * develop consistent approaches, practices and procedures * promote strengths * increase confidence * explore all avenues for the good of the children and young people To book: Please email office@safeguardinginschools.co.uk Home Articles Store Courses Speaking © 2024 Kajabi JOIN OUR FREE TRIAL Get started today before this once in a lifetime opportunity expires.
