I LIKE THIS PACK, BUT COULD ALSO BE BETTER
I use this pack for all my day hikes. It's held up well and is a pretty
good size in all seasons. It is a good size for me. It does ride up some
and my back got achy wearing it in the past. I also good use just a
little bigger sometimes with a lot of extra layers and emergency gear.
It's gotten a little ripping in the side pocket mesh. I wish it had
small hip strap pockets, and a supportive hip belt.

GREAT BACKPACK
These backpacks are the best. I bought two on sale, one for me and one
for a friend. They've held up so well over the past couple years, and
are the perfect size for a day hike or just biking around the city. I've
put mine through a lot of daily use and it's been great. They also have
just enough pockets but not too many!

GREAT PACK!
I bought this be a multi use bag, I use it every day. Its my gym bag
usually but I take on vacation too. I have taken it on a 3 day hike and
was able to pack a neo air sleeping pad, a magma quilt, sleeping
clothes, and 4 days worth of food. I can carry a litter of water in each
side pack and I attach my tent to the bottom straps. there is even some
straps that can hold trekking poles.

I bought this backpack for my girlfriend and it’s perfect for hiking,

NICE DAYPACK BUT NOT PERFECT
Short version: Nice bag (especially if you buy it on a significant
discount) with a few obnoxious design flaws.
Pros:
Good size for a day to day backpack or daypack.
Useable outside side pockets (great for a water bottle or first aid
kit).
Comfortable straps.
Built-in rain fly.
Additional interior pockets to organize gear.
Can accommodate a hydration system.
Cons:
The small top exterior pocket and interior pocket occupy the same space.
This limits their compacity and makes the flap very heavy if packed with
items.
The interior side pocket and exterior side pocket also don't function
well together if they are both very full.
I teach outdoor education and this is the pack I carry day to day as I
hike with groups. It comfortably holds my first aid kit, two (sometimes
3) Nalgene sized bottles, an extra layer, and nick-knacks. The issue
with the two pockets on the flap getting very heavy and falling open is
annoying but not a deal breaker for me. The rain fly is convenient. Mine
has a small rip in it, but I also use it hiking through brush.

Very well made bag. I would have kept it and especially at that price,
but unfortunately it was heavy for me to take on long hikes

FRUSTRATING POCKETS
I needed a travel backpack to hold items that I didn't want to put in a
checked suitcase and that I could also use as a daypack. Worked well on
the airplane, but not as a daypack. Pockets at the top of the bag tended
to collapse and pull the bag open and dump everything out every time I
reached in for a fresh camera battery, or sunscreen, or whatever. Would
prefer two pockets on the outside, one above the other, rather than one
inside and one outside at the very top. Very awkward when the bag is not
filled to capacity. Might work well for backpacking, but need more
pockets for traveling.

2 YEARS LATER, I WISH I BOUGHT A DIFFERENT BAG
Summary: This is not a good bag for people who like to buy something
with the intention of using it for many years because there are too many
poorly designed aspects that make it more irritating than it's worth
when there are similar bags for similar prices out there.
There are many things that make this bag attractive, the light weight,
straps, spacious main compartment, etc.. but after two years of regular
use, I've come to hate this bag with enough passion that I came here to
write a review. I commute to work and take regular short backpacking
trips and use this bag for both.
This bag could be perfect but the are too many little things that are
not designed well that ultimately make it one of the worst I've owned.
The single mesh pouch is not large enough to hold a regular sized
reusable water bottle and if you have the audacity to put one in there
it will pop out within minutes of walking or fly out if you just ever so
slightly bend over to pick up your phone off a table. The double mesh
pockets on the other side are okay, but if you use the taller one to
hold your water bottle the shorter outside pocket can only hold a map or
thin book but unless the item is shorter than the pouch it won't be very
secure.
The straps are the most redeeming quality and do exactly what they are
meant to do. The top of the bag has two zippered pouches. The one on the
outside is a nice size and easy to access, the mesh one on the inside
has a key hook which is a nice idea. However of you use both pockets the
flap becomes too heavy and makes accessing the main compartment a pain
in the butt because it either caves in or falls down and unzips the bag.
At the end of a long day's hike, I hate fighting my bag to grab small
things out. I also hate wrestling with my bag to grab things out of it
when I'm on the bus. Ultimately, k stopped using the inside mesh pocket
and bought a separate pouch to store my keys, and other accessories
making this feature absolutely useless. The blue clip for a water pouch
on the inside is a little too small and a little to stiff to make
attachment easy. This would normally be an easy thing to overlook except
I am now aware how many times I take my water pouch out to refill
because each time it's a memorable experience due to hurt fingers and
general frustration.
Some of you may be wondering why I didn't just get rid of it when I
started to dislike it. The answer is I wanted to like it. It was only
over time did the inconveniences start to outweigh the benefits.

ROOMIER THAN IT LOOKS
This pack holds more gear than you would think and is water bladder
comparable which is great. I wish the hip strap had a little more
padding though
