Have you received one of Cole Hefner's phony phone polls that engage in dirty politics? Jay Dean Correction #1: He brags about giving you a partial refund and wants you to thank him for it. When government has a surplus in its budget, by definition, it has collected too much taxes from you. The 88th legislature started this session with a budget surplus of $32.7 billion. You paid too much. And when you pay too much at the store, what should happen? The store should give you a full refund. If it didn't, you would demand to see the manager until you got a full refund. Jay likes to tell you that he voted to give you property tax relief. He says it's $18 billion. Others say it is only $12 billion. Both are far less than a surplus of almost $33 billion. It's a partial refund of your overpayment. Where's your full refund and why isn't he fighting for that? What's more, the state budget grew by over 20% in this session - during this Biden inflationary economy. From $248 billion in the previous session to $321 billion in this session. And Jay Dean voted for that. You can do math, even though we're talking billions. The difference between $248B and $321B dwarfs a partial tax refund. You know who will pay for all of that new spending? The only source of money for the government: you and your family. It takes some nerve to try and get you to pat him on the back for a partial refund while he grows spending irresponsibily, but that's what Jay does. If you buy what he's selling after knowing these facts, then he's quite the salesman, and you'll pay dearly for it. Jay Dean Correction #2: He makes it easier for the Biden administration to hurt your family. No man in Texas goes harder after the Biden administration - the organization ruining every aspect of the country you love - than our Republican Attorney General, Ken Paxton. In fact, no man in America goes harder after the Biden administration than Ken Paxton. The border isn't secure, Soros spends money to control our urban DA's and turn Texas blue, and Jay Dean thought we should spend months and millions of your tax dollars pursuing a failed impeachment of Ken Paxton. That's right - he voted to impeach Ken Paxton. Is that what you wanted? No. You had other and better priorities. But Jay didn't listen to you - he listened instead to Dade Phelan, the Speaker of the House who joined the Democrats to kill Matt Schaefer's bill to create a border protection unit. C'mon... even Travis Clardy had the sense enough to vote No on this boondoggle. What matters to you is keeping the Biden administration as far from Texas as possible. At least the Texas Senate had the sense to acquit Ken Paxton so that he can go hard after Biden and his administration. Through these first two corrections, you've learned that Jay spends your money too easily and wants you to thank him for it and that he makes it easier for Biden and his cronies to make your life harder. The man doesn't represent you. He listens to other people, and not you. Jay Dean Correction #3: He votes with the "green movement" to kill Texas oil and gas. Al Gore and the World Economic Forum and Joe Biden and Barack Obama want to kill the oil and gas industry. They want everyone to embrace the "green energy" movement. Everyone in East Texas knows that Biden has done all he can to kill oil and gas in Texas. So why go along with their schemes? The green energy movement is a hoax. Wind and solar cannot come anywhere close to doing what oil, coal, and natural gas provide us. You and I know that. But Jay Dean voted for three things that help those devoted to killing oil and gas. First, he voted for a bill that authorizes a taxpayer-funded study to replace the gas tax with a per mile mileage tax. That means that your car would have a device in it that would allow the government to know where you are at all times. It would turn every mile you drive into a toll road. The Texas GOP Platform (which Jay has likely never seen) in Plank #63 takes a strong position against any form of mileage tax. It's a good bet that you also take a strong position against any form of mileage tax. But did he ask you before he voted for this? No, he did not. Because he doesn't listen to you. But that's not all... Second, Jay Dean voted for legislation that enabled "Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) [to] work with private entities to generate carbon credits..." Al Gore wants to create an economy based on carbon credits. Why? Because that way he can limit what you do and control you. "Under a so-called 'cap and trade' system, government places a ceiling or 'cap' on private sector emissions of carbon dioxide and other 'greenhouse gases.' Each sector, industry, or business is allocated a fixed quantity of carbon credits that allow it to emit specific quantities of greenhouse gases." Would you vote for that? No, you would not. What East Texan would? But Jay Dean did. Third, Jay Dean voted for a bill that spends your your state tax dollars to establish a statewide framework to encourage the deployment of public electric vehicle charging stations. In this economy, do you want your money to help pay for electric charging stations across Texas? Jay Dean voted for all of this "green energy" foolishness and it weakens our oil and gas industry in Texas. Jay Dean Correction #4: He voted to limit your freedom of speech. Jay Dean wants to regulate your speech so that any critique you make of him or how he votes would be considered "political advertisement" to be regulated by the Texas Ethics Commission. Here's the language of the legislation he supported: "POLITICAL ADVERTISING RELATED TO LEGISLATION. For purposes of Section 251.001(16), a communication supporting or opposing legislation is considered political advertising under that subdivision if the communication would appear to an ordinary reader, viewer, or listener to express support or opposition of a member of the legislature who authors or sponsors the legislation, or a member of the legislature who supports or opposes the legislation." This is Texas. Our Texas Constitution says this in Article 1, Sec 8: "Sec. 8... no law shall ever be passed curtailing the liberty of speech or of the press." This echoes the First Amendment of the US Constitution. Does Jay Dean care about either Constition or your rights? Evidently not. He voted to limit your speech in committee and on the floor of the House. So why would you vote for him when he wants to strip your right to free speech away from you? It's obvious that we need someone who actually represents East Texas. Thankfully, we have someone who is running to represent you - lifelong East Texan Joe McDaniel. Jay is scared of losing his seat in the legislature - as he should be - and so he tells all kinds of tall tales about Joe to scare you into re-electing Jay. Before we correct the record about these stories Jay tells, let's pretend for a moment that they are true. Here's the thing: none of what Jay says about Joe has cost you a dime in your lifetime. Not one penny. But Jay's vote to grow the government budget over 20% this past legislative session will cost every man, woman, and child in Texas over $1,800 a person. That vote all by itself, if you have a family of four, will require over $7,000 from your family. Do you have that to give? If you're going to vote for Jay Dean, you better like him a whole bunch. It's an expensive relationship. He spends your money like you have it to spend. And without your permission. It's not nice at all to spend more and more of our money in these inflationary times. In fact, it's pretty mean. That's why we say "Mean Jay Dean." No friend would do that to you. Also, notice that this website only gets into what Jay Dean actually voted on. It's a job performance review. If what you read above represents you, then vote for Jay. If it does not, then you have an alternative. Read on to learn about Joe.
