BAY CORRECTIONAL AND REHABILITATION FACILITY

Through a competitive rebid process, the Florida Department of Management
Services awarded a contract for the operation and management of the Bay
Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility to The GEO Group, Inc. (GEO) on October
22, 2013. After a successful transition period working in collaboration with the
previous contractor, GEO assumed operations at the facility on February 1,
2014. 

SCOPE OF WORK:

The facility provides services including dental, medical and psychological
services, education, vocational training, and work programs. The Work and
educational programs are designed to reduce recidivism and include academic and
vocational education, vocational planning, substance abuse education, general
counseling, life skills and transition planning.

FACILITY DESCRIPTION:

The facility consists of an Administration building, enclosed climate controlled
gymnasium, industrial building, green house, and program areas. The facility is
program oriented and daily work and activities are scheduled on a holistic
basis. This allows the inmates an opportunity to receive a balanced program.

ACCREDITATION:

The facility achieved initial accreditation through the American Correctional
Association in 2015 and reaccreditation in 2018 with a score of 100%.
