WE INNOVATE
FOR ZERO-EMISSION MOBILITY

Global warming and air pollution require action urgently. We urgently need to
boost energy transition by drawing on renewable and carbon-free energy sources.
We urgently need to make our transport and industries carbon-free.

Supported by Europe’s strategy to be carbon-neutral by 2050, the ‘Fit for 55’
package and the 2030 France Plan, hydrogen carries key leverage for strategic
growth and a promise of energy sovereignty. At Symbio, we are innovating more
than ever – to accelerate the transition to zero-emission mobility, and to
bolster the French industrial sector by creating value and jobs.

WE ARE DEPLOYING
A WORLD CLASS INDUSTRIAL SITE

To meet the market’s growing needs, Symbio is investing in one of the biggest
manufacturing plants of hydrogen fuel cell systems in Europe. Located in the
“Chemistry Valley” in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, it will bring together
production and logistics activities, the R&D centre, the Symbio Hydrogène
Académie as well as Symbio Group’s headquarters. Our ambition is big: produce
50,000 hydrogen systems per year thanks to cutting-edge technology, while also
being completely energy self-sufficient. The site will be certified ‘BREEAM Very
Good’ in 2023.

THE GIGA FACTORY IN NUMBERS

 * 8 hectares
 * 39,000 sqm of construction
 * Late 2023: mass production begins
 * Production capacity: 50,000 hydrogen systems/year
 * 650 employees on site
